[google-appengine] Errors in vm.syslog and Memory Usage constantly increasing on NodeJS AppEngine
Hi everyone, I am having a problem on some of my AppEngine projects, since a few days I started to I see a lot of errors (which I noticed they might happen when an health check arrives) in my vm.syslog logs from Stackdriver Logging. In the specific these are: - write_gcm: Server response (CollectdTimeseriesRequest) contains errors:#012{#012 "payloadErrors": [#012 {#012 "index": 71,#012 "error": {#012 "code": 3,#012 "message": "Expected 4 labels. Found 0. Mismatched labels for payload [values {\n data_source_name: \"value\"\n data_source_type: GAUGE\n value {\n double_value: 694411264\n }\n}\nstart_time {\n seconds: 1513266364\n nanos: 618061284\n}\nend_time {\n seconds: 1513266364\n nanos: 618061284\n}\nplugin: \"processes\"\nplugin_instance: \"all\"\ntype: \"ps_rss\"\n] on resource [type: \"gce_instance\"\nlabels {\n key: \"instance_id\"\n value: \"xxx\"\n}\nlabels {\n key: \"zone\"\n value: \"europe-west2-a\"\n}\n] for project xxx"#012 }#012 }#012 ]#012} - write_gcm: Unsuccessful HTTP request 400: {#012 "error": {#012 "code": 400,#012"message": "Field timeSeries[11].metric.labels[1] had an invalid value of \"health_check_type\": Unrecognized metric label.",#012 "status": "INVALID_ARGUMENT"#012 }#012} - write_gcm: Error talking to the endpoint. - write_gcm: wg_transmit_unique_segment failed. - write_gcm: wg_transmit_unique_segments failed. Flushing. At the same time, I noticed that my Memory Usage in the AppEngine dashboard for the very same projects is increasing with the passing of time at the point where it reaches the max amount available and the instance restarts, throwing a 502 error when visiting the web site that the app is serving. All this is not happening on a couple of projects that have not been updated since at least 2 weeks (neither the errors above or the memory increase) but it does happen on a newly created instance when deployed with the same codebase of one of the healthy projects. In addition, I don't happen to see any increase in the memory when running my project locally. Can someone gently tell me if they experienced something similar or if they think that the errors and the memory increase are related? I have haven't changed my yaml file for deployment recently and I haven't specified any custom configuration for the health checks (which run on legacy mode at the default rate). [google-appengine] Errors with OpenID2 in the users API on a custom domain
I'm currently developing a Google App Engine app and have it setup with a custom domain. Recently, I've been working on switching login over to the OpenID 2 system built into the users API. Everything works fine until I try it through my custom domain (codecloud.byte-games.com). The first issue was Google displaying a 400 error when requesting OpenID login with Google as the provider. I managed to fix that by asking Miguel Andres register the domain manually on the deprecated Google OpenID 2 system. (https://groups.google.com/d/msg/google-federated-login-api/eIz-i1UYhQY/1LcD2tBxUAMJ) After that was fixed I continued my testing and found a similar issue, this time when loging in with a non-Google OpenID on the custom domain. I managed to implement a temp fix by redirecting users to the appspot domain but that is far from ideal. Basically, whenever the user finishes login with the OpenID provider and returns to my app at the http://codecloud.byte-games.com/_ah/openid_verify?continue=http://codecloud.byte-games.com/ URL it displays the 500 App Engine server error page. When I do the exact same thing except from the appstop domain it works fine. Nothing gets logged in the logs and I have no way of controlling that so it seems to be an error in App Engine itself. I would contact support about this but I'm using the bronze level so I can't do that. It would be *AWESOME* if someone at Google could look into this. Thanks! Hey all, apologies if this got double posted, I just tried to post and don't see my post on the list. We are having an issue with the ah-builtin-python-bundle. [google-appengine] Errors after migration
Hi, Since the M/S database is now deprecated, I decided go along with the migration. My app id is *sciigears*. The migration process went ok, but after that I experience errors. First of all, the Datastore viewer of the Admin console does not show all entities of a kind. What? How can this be? If my application performs a query, it lists entities that do not appear on the datastore viewer page (I order the entities by the same property, same direction...). The missing entities were present in the old app, they should be present in the new. I guess they are since the query run by the app code returns them... Second, I'm not able to read the migrated blobstore files. I get the following error: java.io.IOException at com.google.appengine.api.files.FileServiceImpl.translateException(FileServiceImpl.java:601) at com.google.appengine.api.files.FileServiceImpl.makeSyncCall(FileServiceImpl.java:574) at com.google.appengine.api.files.FileServiceImpl.open(FileServiceImpl.java:496) at com.google.appengine.api.files.FileServiceImpl.openForRead(FileServiceImpl.java:456) at com.google.appengine.api.files.FileServiceImpl.openForRead(FileServiceImpl.java:447) at com.google.appengine.api.files.FileServiceImpl.openReadChannel(FileServiceImpl.java:202) ... [google-appengine] errors in updating entry in the datastore, through our own python script or through gae admin console
Hi, recently we encounter this error. i have a gae app with a number of (50+) entities kinds and data and around 100+ indexes. the data would be removed / updated / added by the application normally. however, there are about 5 particular entries (out of thousands other entries )of one of the entity kind, when there are some updates operated on those entries, we would encounter server error (transaction too large) . those particular entries shouldn't be specially large or different than other data. we then try to directly update one of its string field (just a string field) of these particular entries through gae admin console data viewer, and, we would always get Server Error A server error has occurred. Return to Applications screen » http://appengine.google.com/ since there are quite a number of indexes that built with that string field, it could be expected that updating that string field could involve more index building operations. however, even if it's more involving, we dont expect it shall always returns failure. and other entries in the same entity can be updated normally. now, we have no way to update those entries. can anyone advise - is there any way we could update those data through other means? - any possible causes for such strange behavior? since in terms of storage and indexing gae should be a black box distributed system to us, we dont (and dont need to) understand the underlying distributed persistent / indexing implementations / limitations. or this could potentially be a bug? If anyone from google can help solving this prb, we could provide further information (app id, the key of those problematic entries etc.) . thx in advanced! - eric -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Google App Engine group. [google-appengine] Errors logging into appengine.google.com/a/domain
I have a Google Apps account I'm attempting to use App Engine with. When I go to https://appengine.google.com/a/domain and log in as this user, I get a 302 redirect https://appengine.google.com/start, which then either: 1) returns a chain of 302 redirects to https://appengine.google.com/start (until the browser stops it) 2) returns a 500 error This behavior is consistent across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and with cleared caches. Previously, I was able to log in as this user without issue, and had several applications running under the account. I first noticed this issue in the past few days, but it appears to be restricted to this single user; other users in the same Google Apps domain are able to log in and view/create/modify App Engine apps as expected. It's worth noting a difference between this account and the other, working accounts: this account [was] a Google Apps group with its own Google Account (versus a Google Apps user, with or without an associated Google Account). I say 'was' because, after this issue persisted for several days, I deleted the both the Google Apps group and the Google Account, and replaced it with a Google Apps user. Unfortunately, this did not have any apparent impact on the login behavior. Can somebody help me resolve this issue? [google-appengine] Errors spike?
Hi, Our application suddenly spiked errors in the last 48 hours. We haven't changed our code since long time before that. The dashboard itself is really confusing -- it was reporting 100,000s of errors for certain URLs a half hour ago and when I look at it now it is only reporting 6000 errors for the same URL. Also, currently when I look at the graphs of requests/sec, it shows everything well under 20 req/second when I look at it in 24-hour-span mode but when I look in 12-hour-span mode I see well over 40 req/sec at certain points. It's extremely difficult to diagnose what to do with conflicting data here. Looking at the logs, there are a huge number of the following error message. I'm not sure how to deal with this all of our quotas are well under the price limits we have set and the requests/sec is well under the hard limit. Request was aborted after waiting too long to attempt to service your request. Most likely, this indicates that you have reached your simultaneous dynamic request limit. This is almost always due to excessively high latency in your app. Please see http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/quotas.html for more details. Please help! I'm not sure what to do on our end to help with the problem. The app engine system status page doesn't report anything wrong. -harlan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Google App Engine group.
