Re: Struggling with #GTD Capture and Retrieval
The things I have to take offline (@errands), I print. Then of course I have to mark it as done/delete it later, but it works for me. As to parallel systems - make an action like "list as completed in other system" to remind you to do it. At the same time I know that I run things a little different then most as I use a "Work" GTD, and a "Personal" GTD. Re: Chrome saving problem
Hello, Local save using the TiddlySaver applet does work for me here, with Java 1.6.0_16-b01 and Chrome 3.0.195.27. A few things that you may check: 1. When you open your TiddlyWiki file, if you press shift-escape, you should see Chrome's task manager. Is there a line reading "Plug-in: Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U16"? If not, it seems that Chrome was not able to load a Java VM in a plugin. Reinstalling Chrome might solve this. 2. Assuming that you work under MS Windows, when you open your TiddlyWiki file, do you have a small "Java" icon in your system tray? If so, try right-clicking it, then pick the "open console" option. You will get a small text windows were Java will trace errors. Try saving your TiddlyWiki in Chrome. Is there an error message ("exception", in Java-lingo) shown in the console windows? If so, it might give precious info on what is going on. That's how I realized that I could not save because my TiddlyWiki file was in a directory with "special" characters in its path ('e' with acute accent... not that "special" actually in Europe...) I hope this will allow you to get a rough idea of what is going on. Best regards, Frederic On 19 oct, 18:11, Kostya wrote: > Oh, I think, I've updated Java recently. Re: how to make MonkeyGTD save in Google Chrome?
Another guy opened another thread on same subject. Here is what I wrote there about a workaround I found: Yaakov, I found a workaround. I installed Safari for Windows. 1. It works as fast as Chrome 2. It saves locally both main file and backups. 3. It doesn't upload to server - it doesn't show me a password field. But when I will need to create an online backup, I could do it through Firefox. So, I've solved my problem. Good! Upgraded version reports r103230
I have upgraded my mGTD datafile and it now reports r103230. Generally things appear to be working as before, except I still don't have the Note icon nor the Depends on pulldown, which was the reason for upgrading. Performing the upgrade a second time informs me that the core code is already upgraded to 2.5.3 but single-stepping through each unsafe operation warning dialog from Firefox shows there is an error in macro mtgdList. If I download a new empty file (r9902) everything works as expected. Is there a way to fixup the macro or alternatively downgrade to r9902? thanks paul --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "GTD TiddlyWiki" group.
