2010-07-30 Thread Raamklaza

How can i simulate this?

I just want to add actions quickly and just think about them when i am
ready for them.

How can i do this?

Re: Inbox?

2010-07-30 Thread Raamklaza
Thnx Erlend the text.

I have to disagree with you and Simon. The inbox is a necessary part
of GTD and a part that shouldn't be skipped.

The reason for this is, that when you are focussing on working on
stuff you should be able to add something quickly in your inbox.
Dumping it in your inbox and then continue what you where working on.
This will take 2 sec. But without an inbox you need to think about
context, subprojects, etc. So you are distracted. Mostly also because
the new items show up in the main windows of MonkeyGTD.

For me the inbox will be cleaned as often as necessary (just like Mr.
Allen said). This will be once or twice a day.

I will try Simons suggestion later.

I think we can go one better than a separate text file.. How about this:

Find MgtdMenuExtra under More, TW, All (must be using the latest update,
r9813). Click it and click edit.

 Type [[Inbox]] and click Done.

This puts a link to Inbox in a handy location right above your tabs.

Click on the Inbox link. Click edit.

Now you can put any text you want in there. And you can use wiki formatting.
Click done when you're finished editing of course.

(Actually this seems handy, I might make it part of the next update. Any
 objections?)

 BUT (here be dragons...)

Please remember the rules of GTD...
 * Never leave anything in your inbox
 * Never put anything back in your inbox
 * Process your inbox top to bottom until it's empty
 * Don't even LOOK at your inbox without processing it...

Seriously, I can imagine you guys neatly organising the stuff in your lovely
new Inbox tiddler. Don't do it!! Be vigiliant! Say NO! Be an inbox zero
 hero...!! :)

Re: Inbox?

Found that also :)

I really like the flexibility of GTD Tiddlywiki

I added this:
mgtdList startTag:Action title:'You should give these actions a
context' tags:'!Done' view:DoneAction mode:global
where:tiddler.hasNoParent('Context')

Re: D3 or Monkey

2010-07-30 Thread jonas thomas

I tried D3 and a number of other TD-based solutions. The big thing in
favor of mGSD (Monkey): subprojects. I don't recall any other
solutions with this ability. It isn't perfect, but it at least
recognizes that some projects are connected.

I should have mentioned that part. D3 is not very strong on sub-projects.
My latest work around on that has been to start to put the main leg on a
waiting action, create a new (sub) project, and share tags. Cumbersome, but
more or less works for me.

The recent update was also helpful. Some of these solutions look
promising until you realize that they were long ago abandoned.

Which recent update are you refering to?
