Re: where is the new journal button ?

2010-09-15 Thread Simon Baird
One suggestion that's useful if you are logging work on a project is to make
a reference item called log (or whatever). Then create journal entries under
that reference item by clicking new journal in the reference item.

Re: where is the new journal button ?

2010-08-18 Thread Gary Buckley
I agree that having multiple formats for the journal entries created
in different ways doesn't make sense, I just try and restrict myself
to creating them via the option in the top right of a tiddler.

I created myself a tiddler called "Journal" with a view to using it to
keep track of my most recent entries. It picked up some default
behaviour from somewhere: it lists all tiddlers tagged as "Journal"
and gives some options on how to display them. This is great but I
can forsee problems when I've got hundreds of entries (I use the
journal to track work done and comments daily), where's the code for
this behaviour? I'd like to see if I can tweak it to limit the
entries displayed to the most recent week/month/whatever.

Thanks for any help.

Re: where is the new journal button ?

2010-08-18 Thread Brett Leber
FWIW, I see a "new journal" link in the top right corner of every
tiddler in mGSD 3.1.1 beta. But depending on the tiddler, the title of
the new journal entry is either in one of these formats:

Wed 18-Aug-10, 08:49[from a normal tiddler]
Journal 18/8/10 [from the built-in shadow tiddler WelcomeToTiddlyspot]

Or when I click the "new journal" button that Tim mentions below, I
get this format:

18 August 2010

Seems it would be useful to have all of those buttons use the same
date/time format, no?

Note that clicking "new journal" from either tiddler mentioned above
will add a reference tag to the parent tiddler, while using Tim's
approach, you just get a "journal" tag.

Re: where is the new journal button ?

2010-08-17 Thread TJK
Just so that I don't mislead anyone who reads this later... I did find
an already installed "new Journal" button. It's in the right hand
sidebar, under the more tab, then in the TW tab, and then a few lines
down under the search field before the "save changes".

Are you talking about mGSD? If you are then... I couldn't find it
either, so I just made one in the process tab below "new realm".
