[guadec-list] card payment machine
Hi! Several people have asked for the ability to pay for things at the venue with card instead of cash or paypal. I reached out to Jonas from FFKP and asked if they had any. He arranged a iZettle one and it will arrive by post to my apartment on Thursday. - Andreas ___ guadec-list mailing list guadec-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/guadec-list

Skyman already arranged the credentials we can use to shop there. Thanks Fabiana and Skyman! The car and I are now in Gothenburg, so I can go to Axfood whenever is convenient for Christopher, and it would be great to have him along as both a helping hand and a knowledgeable local. The forecast that Oliver linked to still looks good for Friday, but I guess that we should do a final check on Thursday afternoon. The shopping list on the etherpad looks good, and we can always modify it slightly if some things are not available. Some soft drinks and juices would be good, too. I added some rubbish (garbage) bags to the list. We can store the stuff here, but we need to come with with a plan for transporting things to Slottskogen. Someone with a car will probably need to leave Folkets Hus a little earlier to wrangle that. I am happy to leave a bit early on Friday to pick up the picnic things. We brought a (small) coolbox with us, and even a gas stove, which might come in handy. -- http://amigadave.com/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ guadec-list mailing list guadec-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/guadec-list
[guadec-list] [IMPORTANT] Shopping tomorrow
Hey community, I really need a final word on whether or not we are going shopping tomorrow, and if so, when. I was told there is a car with driver willing to help us, but we need to set a definite date and place on where to go. Now, the local Snabbgross (which I assume our Axfood card works with) is thankfully pretty close to the center, so not too much logistics is involved: http://www.snabbgross.se/Hitta-oss/Butiker/Goteborg/ *The real issue is where to store all the stuff after we buy it*. I have already volunteered my living room in lack of a better solution. I live about 15 minutes worth of driving away from the venue. So, I need the following cleared up: 1. Who is willing to come with us tomorrow? 2. When do we go? I am fine at any point during the day personally since I have flexible office hours. 3. Where do we drop it all off? 2015-08-05 16:39 GMT+02:00 Michael Catanzaro mcatanz...@gnome.org: The template is really good. :) Thanks, took quite some time. Be sure to advertise it to speakers so we have a consistent design ;) It doesn't work that well with graphics yet which is a bit sad. Are you collecting PDFs for the rest of the lightning talks (non -student talks) as well? I will attach my slides in case you are This is currently not planned and would need to be synched with the GUADEC team. Took the freedom to CC them. GUADEC organizers: If you want I can collect lightning talk slides and combine them into one big presentation so we avoid switching laptops for every talk leaving us more time to listen to speakers. I already have a fine makefile for that although I'd love it if somebody else could care about creating the order of talks and reminding people to submit their slides in time. Re: [guadec-list] gender field in registration system
The reason this has been brought up is because there were been complaints in previous years from people who were contacted and did not want to receive the mail. Coincidentally, the gender field is not being used for contacting people this year as per the first email from Marina. I did not fill it in and I have been contacted already. This sort of behaviour is what polarises people over the issue. It doesn't help that the same email has already been sent to gnome-women-list as well. Better to just please everybody, I guess, if there really are people who feel that strongly about it. Perhaps a public notice will be enough for this year, so we can do it more properly next year.
