Subject: [h-cost] Image Gallery: Dresses from 1920's, 1930's & 1940's

Hi everybody!
I'm working on a research project and I wanted to find out if anyone knew of
a good image gallery for dresses from the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's.

Thanks!

Re: [h-cost] long 'hair' for a lion costume

2009-10-16 Thread landofoz

Sorry, can't recall who posted the question about trying to find long
'hair' for a lion costume. I replied at the time that I'd lucked into
some human hair wefts on sale locally for my Aslan. Have since completed
the costume and thought you might enjoy seeing how the wig and mane
turned

out. The cost was about $40 (the fur for the jacket was extra).

Where can we see this? do you have a web link or ??

I think the list strips attachments

I know it does. I thought everyone knew. :) I just thought the OP forgot
to include a link to the work. If it was meant to be attached, then I asked
a futile question.

I inherited some of what I believe is purple cloth-of-silver. It has
a purple silk warp and a silver-plated copper weft. It doesn't drape
worth diddly, and hangs slightly angular, not smooth, and it catches
the light differently than silk does. At this point I can identify it
in a clear historical photo.

I wouldn't want to sit in a garment made of it, because the wrinkles
would never come out. I keep my piece on a roll so it won't kink or
wrinkle.
