Re: [Hampshire] [ADMIN] March Meeting
Hi everyone - me again. Just a further reminder about MAC addresses for wireless access. Registering MACs is not a 5 minute job - it takes up to 30 minutes for my changes to propagate to the University network, and sometimes up to an hour. If you're thinking about coming to the meeting on Saturday I strongly advise that you send me your MAC address (even if you don't turn up). Regards, Chris On 24/02/13 13:32, Chris Malton wrote: Couple of admin points from me: First of all, the MAC address deadline is now no longer in effect, however, it's preferable to mail me in advance as then you'll have your accounts ready to go when you get there. Secondly, the Mountbatten Atrium North entrance is still shut due to a safety issue. Please use the Mountbatten South entrance this weekend. Signage will be in place accordingly. Chris D, do you want to give the IPv6 talk this month? Please contact Chris Malton with your MAC address as usual. There will be a Raspberry PI available to play with as usual (though only with a small monitor this time). [Hampshire] [ADMIN] March Meeting News
Hi, You may have noticed that the LUG wiki states that the next meeting will not take place on Saturday 7 March as originally planned. For reasons beyond our control the meeting cannot take place on that day at the University of Southampton. While we have contacted Jamie's in Southampton to reestablish a working relationship with them and we hope to find alterante venues, at this short notice our best option is to share with the Surrey LUG at their next meeting on Saturday 14 March at Guildford. I will contact our friends in the Surrey LUG and invite ourselves along. A formal announcement will follow shortly and the wiki will be updated as appropriate. -- Adam Trickett Chairman, Hampshire Linux Users Group http://www.hants.lug.org.uk/ signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -- Please post to: Hampshire@mailman.lug.org.uk Web Interface: https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/hampshire LUG URL: http://www.hantslug.org.uk --
