What I'm wondering is whether anyone has any fabby recommendations for hosting? Thanks Owain I can highly recommend Nethosted. I have been with them over 10 years, and have 10 sites running. Support is via ticket only, but they answer within an hour, sometimes less than 5 minutes. This is 24/7. They are also very good in sorting out self-induced problems Regards David -- Please post to: Hampshire@mailman.lug.org.uk Web Interface: https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/hampshire LUG URL: http://www.hantslug.org.uk --

I would recommend Bitfolk.com you can install whatever software you like and I've always has excellent service from Andy Smith and his team. I always buy my domains from gandi.net who are excellent. They also do hosting if you want a pre packaged server rather than a VPS. All the best, Paul. Sent from my mobile device. Re: [Hampshire] Hosting recommendations
I quite like digitalocean https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=8fba3fc95fef (this link will also give you $10 credit for free, cheapest vm they offer is $5 a month). They are the cheapest and simplest VPS provider I have seen so far but still provide excellent quality service. The provides a whole bunch of applications images you can spin up and try out with out even needed to log into the vm (including a wordpress image). They charge by the hour (up to a maximum per month) so you can spin up a vm with out any major commitment. I have also used linode https://www.linode.com/pricingin the past and have been very pleased with them. They cost about the same as digitalocean for an equivalent vm, but digitalocean offer a smaller/cheaper size if you don't need as much resources. They also don't offer pre-installed applications like digitalocean do. I hate saying this but GoDaddy is pretty solid and very easy to use. Word press is even an prepackaged install option. On 21 Aug 2015, at 08:57, Owain Clarke simb...@cooptel.net wrote: Hello all.
