Coincidentally, at the time Karl was already discussing a design for a new version control system with his friend Jim Blandy. In 1995, the two had started Cyclic Software, a company providing CVS support contracts, and although they later sold the business, they still used CVS every day at their jobs. Their frustration with CVS had led Jim to think carefully about better ways to manage versioned data, and he'd already come up with not only the name "Subversion", but also with the basic design of the Subversion repository. --- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf ___ Hardhats-members mailing list Hardhats-members@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hardhats-members

Re: [Hardhats-members] Re: CPRS Source Code Subversion Repository
I remember when we first started looking at Delphi, and I remember well how much I was impressed by it. Of course, I still can't stand all those intitial T's (they're almost, not quite, but almost as annoying as all the initial NS's in the Cocoa framework), but that's a small thing. Of course, I've always really liked Pascal. No doubt it has something to do with the fact that I learned to program in Pascal, but it always seemed to me to be a clean, simple, and well thought out language. On top of that, I think Borland did a good job of incorporating object orientation into a language. in some ways, I think Java appeals to me because it feels like Delphi with a C-like syntax. --- Chris Richardson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > If you wait for perfection, nothing ever gets done.
