Bill,
Thanks for the reply. OK, but these 2 wall-worts are brand new (out of
the box!) but

made in China!.
Fine, I will go check Digi-key/Newark for better choices. I did this
many years

backas I recall; old memories. Sheesh!

Hi Duncan!

All the Netgear switches that I used eventually did the chronic blinking
(after a few years of use). In each case it was that the power supplies
had gone bad. (These were old 8 port switches with external black power
blocks.)

Regards.

[H] SP 1 in W7 ?

2013-08-22 Thread FORC5
Trying to slipstream SP1 into my Win 7 Ultimate DVD with no luck.
VLite does not seem to support SP support and RT Seven seems really
buggy or does not support ultimate.

Any clues here ? Can it be done manually ?

[H] WTF?

2013-08-22 Thread DSinc

So today I am replacing my two switches.
Out with my old Dell PC2716's.
In with new Netgear GS116NA's.
First one done,...BUT, ever since install all connected ports
constantly blink indicating
chronic activity. OK, I know that clients and devices need to
re-introduce themselves to each
other. FINE. But, it has been an hour! And theconstantport blinking
continues.

Am I living through another 'Master Browser' scenario?

I am aware that my Netgear NAS's can be guilty of self-promotion to
'Master Browser status.'
Fine. Sadly, nobody at the forum wishes to share 'why' this behavior
continues. Bummer.

I will deal with this issue on the Readynas Forum, later.

Aside from this, is chronic port blinking normal on Netgear switches???
A returning user wishes to know!
Thanks,
Duncan
