What's wrong with Nero 6.6.xx? I have Nero7 installed and it works,
mostly. You can alwas not install all of it.

Curious, though, RAM and disc space seem to be available in goobs but we
still don't want to install apps? At least nero doesn't try to take over
your PC like some other apps do..

I really don't want to install Nero 7's bloatware on my PC

Does anybody have other good choices for the best all-around DVD/CD burning
software these days that I can go and look at ??

Nothing's wrong with Nero 6.6, I still use it on almost all of my systems,
but it won't work on my new main PC with Vista installed...

So use Nero and deselect all the ghetto bloated crap. I end up with about
2-3 check boxes on mine and it's a great piece of software for people like us.
It's also a great piece of software for the avg joe with all of the boxes
checked
due to the extra hand holding it installs. ( Like smart start, what a POS )

OK.. good to know they let you de-select stuff you don't want. I have not
really looked at 7 yet so did not know

I have always liked Nero, so perhaps I should give 7 a chance

Thanx... :)

Keep in mind that as they dropped support at a certain patch (build)
level in ver 7 for Win98, ME etc, they also added Vista support right after
that...
(If anyone knows those build numbers, please post them...)

If you get a boxed version, be sure it COMES with Vista support on the box...
(You can always D/L the latest version, but sometimes that leaves stuff out,
like help at the very least...)

That's because Vista is a POS.

Been beta testing on it for Duocor and while the beta's were bad the final has
not been too bad, just do not understand why SW has to be so dependent on the
OS so a lot of stuff does not work. Just on my server, not my main system for
sure so no big deal. some ppl like the eye candy I guess.
