Re: Subclipse Diff: Are there any way to ignore whitespace when creating patch using Subclipse in Eclipse

I tend to consider that as two separate patches. One that corrects the
formatting, and one that fixes the bug.

My approach to this has been to avoid doing the source formatting for an
entire file and only format the section that you're working on. You can just
select a portion of a file and format that. Additionally, instead of
formatting, you might try just using the Correct Indention, this won't
apply all of the formatting rules; it just adjusts the indentions that are
 selected.

 Dears,

If you select Spaces only as Eclipse tab policy and you format the
Harmony source code in Eclipse, when you creating patch for the source
code, Subclipse may regard the source code as total different with the
source in SVN. Then other developers cannot know what you have changed
to the source code. So are there any way to avoid this confusion? Thanks
 a lot.

OK - well - here is a plan.

I have these scripts in a hacked together state and they currently
rely on reading the output from -verbose:class generated by an IBM JRE.
Ideally I'd like them to be able to read a couple of different formats.

If anyone is interested in knowing if their app would (in theory) run
using Harmony classes open a JIRA called Would $my_favourite_app run on
Harmony? and attach the output from java -verbose:class
$my_favourite_app. If this works I can pick up the output and use it to
test the tool. Please would you also attach the output from java
-version? I will append (or ask someone to append) a list of missing
 files to the JIRA.

When I'm happy that my scripts work and I've tidied up the code I'll
attach the source as a JIRA and write some instructions on how to use it.

FWIW in looking at Derby, it looks as though we still need SQL (could
have predicted that I suppose) and JNDI, but those seem to be all that
are missing. I can send the list of missing classes to anyone that
wants to verify this - it's just slightly too long to paste into mail

Paste it on the wiki (wiki.apache.org/harmony/). I'd be curious to see it.

Hi,

Please forgive my ignorance but I would like to know who all are

Formally, those who were signed up to the original Harmony proposal, and
anyone who has joined the provisional project management committee
(PPMC) since (which, IIUC is no-one yet).

And, informally, anyone. Informal votes, whilst not binding, are
valuable as they show the wishes of a wider community.

1) Yes, this is formal, but we want a clear audit trail into the
project, and clear acceptance decisions
2) I normally would put a 3 day review period, but this code is small
and I want to use this to test the process
3) Once we accept (I expect we will) ( and if David gets his Bulk

Eyebrowse is deprectated at Apache.

I've already checked by subscription list in the wiki, it's empty.

When a separate mailing list has been set up for wiki changes, the
changes will go there, and you'll be able to (un)subscribe to that list
however you wish.
