As a starter, for a second grader to begin learning Yiddish, Pitspopany 
Press recently published a picture book, (Ages 6 and up) called SEREENA'S 
SECRET by David Weintraub  from the Center for Yiddish Culture in Coral 
Gables, FL. It is in dual-text (Eng-Yiddish) and has simple Yiddish lessons

of Independence from 5/14/48 and I am also looking for an audio and/or
