The Washington State Holocaust Education Center is looking for 
software to put our lending library of books and multi-media on-line.

We serve a state-wide constituency and we want teachers and students 
to be able to view our collection on-line and be able to check out 
books as well.

We currently use Readerware to catalogue our collection of 2,500 
items that relate to the Holocaust and Holocaust education.

If anyone has used a software for this purpose, please let us know 
what you used, how to contact the vendor, and how it has worked for you.

We are very pleased to announce that our library's catalog is now online. It
can be accessed at:

We use the Elezar system for our Judaic books and Dewey for our secular
items as we also serve a K - 8 day school.  We have over 30,000 holdings,
most with full cataloging, including summaries.

[ha-Safran]: Online catalog for a shul library question

I am helping my shul in Rockland, New York, establish a Library.  We have
thousands of books in boxes, new bookshelves, and I told the woman in charge
that it seemed absurd to have a card catalog for these books - it was time
for us to bring our library to the 22nd Century.

I called my local library and asked where they had gotten their computer
program - allowing for easy reference and simplifying the loan of books.   I
was directed to refer to other small libraries, perhaps other shul
libraries.

Might you be able to direct me towards a program for shul libraries to
organize and utilize for loans?
