[ha-Safran] Day School collection development policies

2020-09-16 Thread Robbin Katzin via Hasafran
Recently, I sent out a request on Hasafran for day school collection policies.
Any policies that are sent to me will be added to the AJL website at some
point.  Since only one school shared their policy with me, I am making a second
request.  Sharing your policy will ultimately benefit other day schools.
Thanks!

Shalom safranim,

Does anyone have an online subscription to *HaAretz*?

If so, please share the contact information.

Is it included in any of the subscription databases.?

Many thanks as always for your collective expertise.

[ha-Safran] A research question -- looking for Hadassah archives

2020-09-16 Thread Anna Shparberg via Hasafran

Dear Colleagues,

I have received the following research inquiry from a student doing
research for an honors thesis on Hadassah.  She is particularly
interested in personal correspondence and diaries, but is unable to
travel to New York because of the pandemic. Would you have any
suggestions for her?

If possible, please share them directly with the student, Arija Forsyth,
at a...@rice.edu, because I will be away and unable to share them.

Here is the student's request below:

I'm reaching out in the hopes that you could help me locate some primary
sources for my thesis, which is dedicated to the medical/nursing work of
Hadassah, the American Women's Zionist Organization, in Palestine from
1913-1940.  I'm especially interested in locating accounts of particular
women working within/for Hadassah in Palestine. In an ideal world, I
find personal correspondence/diary entries suitable for case studies.I'm
still hoping to visit the American Jewish Historial Society archives in
New York, but with COVID my chances of doing so are increasingly
unlikely. That is one of the reasons I'm hoping you might be able to
help me discover alternate avenues by which to locate some primary
source documents.

Thank you very much in advance for your help,

--

[ha-Safran] Yom Kippur for Children

2020-09-16 Thread Sol Paz via Hasafran
Dear All,

I hope that everybody is doing well.

I am looking for a book about Yom Kippur for children in 5th and 6th
grades. It would be nice if the book is in digital support since we are
doing remote learning with our students.

Will be waiting for your kind recommendations.

Shaná Tová from Ecuador,

Sol
