Hi Jane,

This is a great topic for our BIRDS OF A FEATHER: SSCPL ROUNDTABLES session at 
the conference on Wednesday, June 29 at 9am! The session will provide an 
opportunity to "flock together" with similar librarians. First, we'll break 
into schools, synagogues, centers, and public libraries groups to discuss 
institution-specific topics and concerns. Half-way through the session, groups 
will break up to conduct roundtable discussions on specific topics such as 
weeding, gift policies, advocacy/promotion, PJ Library book donations, etc. I 
think we can definitely add synagogue archives to the list.

If anyone else has ideas for topics, contact Sean Boyle at 
boyles...@gmail.com. This will be a great 
opportunity to learn from each other!

[ha-Safran] AJL Election Results

Dear Friends,

AJL has concluded its biennial election of officers, held online May 1–30, 
2022. I wanted to share the AJL election results with all of you prior to the 
Installation of Officers on Tuesday, June 28, in Philadelphia. There were 415 
eligible voters, of which 187 cast ballots.

[ha-Safran] any reference books on Israeli fiction?

Hello Safranim,

I need some help.  Is there a bibliography or other reference book out there on 
Israeli fiction?  I'm finding Josh Lambert's American Jewish Fiction, from JPS, 
helpful as I evaluate books for weeding (ugh), but I could use some guidance on 
Israeli fiction from the 1960s on.  Is there a book or particularly good 
libguide out there?  Thank you for your help!

[ha-Safran] Temp position - Hebrew materials and programming Englewood NJ

Hi everyone,

I was contacted by the director of the Englewood Public Library in New
Jersey about an NEH grant-funded position to enhance their world
language offerings. They are looking for someone to handle building a
Hebrew book collection and providing programming in/involving Hebrew
language at the library. It would be 19 hours a week for one year. If
anyone is interested, I can share more information about the grant and
put you in touch with the director to discuss it further.
