Re: Editor not working

2009-02-22 Thread DAZ

Sorry I've been away for the last week.

Thanks for your help and ideas on this Candace. I'm only using erb
files. The problems seem to be more than this - I've just had a go at
editing and can't even access any of my view or controller code. The
model code has the same behaviour as before - it says syntax error and
no changes that I make are saved.

Please, please could somebody help out with this?

cheers,

DAZ

Re: Editor not working

2009-02-14 Thread Candace Wong
Hi Daz,

Is your site public? Or are you able to send over any examples? Are you
using standard .erb files to render your views (or some other templating
framework)? Have you checked that you don't have duplicate files with
different extensions that are rendering your views? Seems obvious, but last
week, I had .erb files and .haml files conflicting with one another. Just
thought I'd point that out in case :)

Re: Editor not working

2009-02-14 Thread DAZ

Thanks for the reply Candace, I've had problems with CSS files and
images too - but they seem more to do with the browser cache.

At the moment I'm trying to edit some views - the behaviour is very
bizarre - I make changes in the editor, save them, view the page and
it hasn't changed, go back to the editor and the changes I made are
not there - seems that they are just not saving at all, even though it
says it has saved them. Another problem is that it is saying that all
my views have syntax errors, even though I'm sure there aren't any.

Any help on this from anybody would be appreciated!

cheers,

DAZ

Hi Daz,

I was getting the same thing for a while but it was only happening on static
resources (.css files, images). Is this what's happening?

Re: Editor not working with Firefox 3

2008-05-11 Thread Steve M

I second the request for Firefox 3 Beta support.
Not only is the cursor invisible, but the context menus on the file
browser don't work, which is a serious roadblock.

Thanks for the tip on installing FF2 beside FF3 on Hardy, I will do
that. I'm just saying I would prefer to stick to FF3 ...

Oh, that's an easy one.
http://getfirebug.com/releases/
Grab the 1.1 beta, it works in ff3b5.

Plus, chances are you can force the older extensions to work with this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543

MeasureIT may not work, however, there is the Web Developer's Toolbar,
which has a ruler function that may work in the interim.
Kevin's working on updating the extension to work in FF3.
Scroll down the comments to the April-08 entries.
http://www.kevinfreitas.net/extensions/measureit/

Dunno about the theme, as I stick with the default GTK-ish theme that
ff3b5 came with.

Good luck with hardy, may it bring you good fortune and stability.

Thanks Kamilion,

I have found FF2 in the repos, but didn't know about the different
profiles, thanks! I'm actually finding it the other way around - none
of my FF2 extensions seem to work at the moment, so no firebug,
measureit and no ifox theme!

Re: Editor not working with Firefox 3

2008-05-05 Thread Kamilion

Here's my advice, I've been running on hardy since october.

sudo apt-get install firefox-2

That should install FF2 in addition to FF3.

Now, you'll probably want separate profiles for each.
Open up terminal and type in "firefox-2 -P"
This will bring up the profile selector, create a new profile and name
it something like Firefox2.
Now you should have a separate mini-profile for FF2 so it doesn't
excrete a brick trying to run FF3 extensions.

Good luck!

I updated to Hardy Heron yesterday and now find that the editor
doesn't work properly with Firefox 3 - there is a message that says it
doesn't work and I can't see the cursor.

Any advice on what to do, or will Firefox 3 be supported soon?

Hey all,

Is anyone having trouble using the heroku editor under firefox for the
mac? I'm not able to select any of the folders or their context menus.

It works OK in camino, but the text editor doesn't show an insertion
point there.

Firefox 2.0.0.12

Thanks!
