[Histonet] problem in IF stains

2010-03-16 Thread Aazath Raj

Dear Friends,

I am having a problem in IF stains on Renal Bx.In direct
immunofloresence on the frozen sections does not have disered contrast and many
of the cases its falsely negative.

Can you people tell me the possible mistake which may cause these kind of
effects on the IF stain.

I dont see any gross mistakes on the Frozen sections after sectioning. All the
temperature and other things are fine on the cryostate, but my pathologist
feels that there may be any problem in section.will that have any effects on
the IF stains..

[Histonet] Processing Of CSF

2009-12-25 Thread Aazath Raj

Dear Friends,

Iam a Technical Officer in Apollo Hospitals India in Department of
Histopathology and Cytology. I am having a problem in CSF processing for
cytology. We are using Thermo Shandon 4- Cytocentrifuge for processing CSF and
Urine. The yield is very less. We spin it with 750rpm ( acceleration-
medium)for 5 min with 1drop of egg albumin as adisive. Most of the time the CSF
has been reported as no cellular material found.Iam little concern about the
technique ,which we are following. Is anybody have a better way to process the
CSF for Cytology with better yield of material.

Merry X-Mas and Happy New Year to all.

with regards,

Aazath
