[Histonet] electron microscopy on bone
I'm hoping someone might be able to guide me to a laboratory which is capable of completing transmission electron microscopy on cortical bone or perhaps would be willing to share a procedure. Our interest is in osteoclast ultrastructure. Thank you. Eric A. [Histonet] SV-40 control tissue
Does anyone have a commercial source for SV-40 control tissue to be used in IMPX? Thanks for your help. EAB Eric A. [Histonet] protein concentration for Cy2
This question if for anyone doing C4d immunoflourescence staining. Could someone share what protein concentration the Cy2 labeled anti-mouse IgG is prepared at and what buffer is used for that? Our final dilution of the Cy2 is (1:100 in 1%BSA/PBS) but we don't know what the original protein concentration for the dry Cy2 should be. Thank you for your assistance it is greatly appreciated. [Histonet] cross contamination
Hi Histonetters- Our laboratory does not process gynecologic cytology specimens and we have a relatively small number of non gynecologic specimens. Usually when we process the non gynecologic cytology specimens, they are done separately. I saw a CAP question which addresses prevention of cross contamination in the cytopathology section. Does anyone have a protocol which they could share which addresses the issue of nongynecologic specimens that have a high potential for cross-contamination being stained separately from other nongynecologic specimens? [Histonet] NADPH-diaphorase
Hi, hoping that someone might be able to share with us where they purchase NADPH-diaphorase for the NADPH stain. Thank you. EAB Eric A. [Histonet] bone histology and storage
Does anyone have a methodology for long term storage of bone? Formalin vs alcohol? Orthopedic group here is wondering whether bone for research purposes should be preferentially stored in alcohol. They aren't interested in immunohistochemistry but rather tensile properties of bone. I haven't been able to find any information on the advantages or disadvantages of bone storage with formalin vs alcohol and hope that someone may be able to shed light on this issue or direct me to the appropriate information site.
