Accessioning Supervisor

We are currently seeking a supervisor for our Accessioning department.  This is 
a working supervisor position and therefore the job incumbent will not only 
lead and direct a team of 5-7 employees, but will also be required to open/sort 
specimens, enter patient information into the Laboratory Information System 
(LIS), and perform other routine Accessioning Technician and problem resolution 
tasks.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 3+ years of specimen accessioning 
experience, working with a full range of anatomic pathology tissue specimens, 
as well as 2+ years of previous supervisor experience.  Knowledge of ATLAS and 
SunQuest CoPath a plus.  Position is typically M-F, working mid-day shift, ie 
11a-8p.

[Histonet] Re: Slide printers and Cassette Printers

We use both the 12 hopper and single hopper General Data cassette engravers. 
They are fast, and have been rock-solid in terms of reliability. The cost of 
consumables is high (you must use their cassettes), but due to the technology 
used, the engraved blocks read 100% of the time for our specimen tracking and 
real time labeling applications.

PBM Labs, LLP is seeking a Histology Technician or Histology Technologist to 
work nights. The shift can either be 1:00am - 9:30am or 2:00am - 10:30am, 
depending on the candidate's preference.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a 
demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy/quality. 
At least one year of previous Histology Tech experience and National HT (ASCP) 
certification preferred.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
· Perform assigned pre and post analytical activities related to anatomic 
pathology tests assigned including specimen collection and processing, Quality 
Control, equipment maintenance, inventory control, Quality Assurance and 
proficiency testing procedures
· Perform analytical activities related to specimen processing, embedding, 
cutting, routine and special histologic staining, frozen sectioning, 
coverslipping, and handling of irreplaceable tissue, surgical, and body fluid 
specimens
