Hello all,

AdventHealth is hiring for Histology Techs for our new Histology Lab in La
Grange, IL.  We have day and overnight positions currently available. We
are a small lab that offers full benefits, and good pay, while working with
a great bunch of people. Everyone helps each other. We work hard to
encourage team values, open honest communication and a system of continuous
quality improvement.

We will perform special stains by hand with kits and immunos on the Ventana
Benchmark Ultra. Must have a minimum of one year of experience as a
Histology Technician with competency in the areas of processing, embedding,
and microtomy. Immuno experience and HT or HTL certification is preferred,
but not required. We are hiring now!

 The University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a 
histology technician.  Full-time, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, benefits 
eligible position.  Our lab provides histology service to the UGA CVM Teaching 
Hospital as well as to the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Lab and surrounding 
local veterinarians.  We also provide histology services for a large number of 
research projects within and outside the university.  We offer routine 
histology, a lengthy list of special stains, and a very in depth list of IHC 
stains for both tumor markers and infectious diseases.  The perfect candidate 
would have experience in either histology or vet med, but any candidate willing 
to learn with a good attitude and work ethic will be considered.  More

Toxicologic Pathology Associates, Inc (TPA) is seeking candidates for 
histotechnician positions. TPA provides pathology and pathology-related 
services to the Food and Drug Administration's National Center for 
Toxicological Research (NCTR) located in Jefferson, Arkansas. Current positions 
range from entry level laboratory technician who can execute basic laboratory 
procedures to more advanced histotechnician positions for individuals who have 
an HT or HTL (ASCP) certification.  Potential candidates should have highly 
developed cognitive skill sets and may be responsible for complete project 
performance for both large and small projects.



TPA provides a comprehensive benefits package to its employees and a 
competitive starting salary commensurate with experience, expertise and skill 
set. Employment of successful candidates will contingent upon receipt of a 
satisfactory drug screening report, obtaining the necessary federal government

stem cell-based therapeutic platform. The technology has been validated in

Position Summary:
This position supports performance of novel biomarkers and tissue based

Analyze complex data for trends making recommendations to more senior

Education and Qualifications:
Degree in Biological Sciences or related scientific discipline with related

Hi my name is Jeff and I am the Pathology Supervisor here at Kadlec Regional 
Medical Center Richland, WA. I just had a Histologist resign today as she is 
moving to Florida to be closer to her Parents. I am looking for someone to fill 
this position that has Immuno experience and I would prefer someone ASCP/QIHC. 
This posting will not take place on our web site till next week sometime. 
Kadlec is a 270 bed facility with an expansion taking place next year to over 
300 beds. Last year we did almost 13,000 cases and growing every year. Richland 
is Part of the Tri-Cities Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland with the area 
population of about 250,000 both cities and rural area. The Columbia, Snake, 
and Yakima Rivers converge here so there are boating and fishing opportunities. 
We are 2 hours from Spokane and 3 ½ hours from Seattle with snow skiing along

The Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General has an excellent 
opportunity for an experienced Histology Technologist to practice in our full 
service laboratory which consists of hematology, chemistry, microbiology, 
molecular diagnostics, histology, anatomic pathology and transfusion service.

Our newly renovated state-of-the-art histology laboratory performs 
approximately 13,000 surgical cases each year and includes fully automated 
microtomes and an Immunohistochemistry stainer.  Because our technologists are 
not responsible for grossing or frozen sectioning, they can fully focus on 
Histology.

Qualifications:
We are currently seeking flexible service technologists who will be available 
for flexible scheduling or 20hours/week Monday - Friday between 5:00 a.m. and 
5:00 p.m., with some weekend availability. Requirements include current

JOB TITLE:   Histology Technician II 

 

DEPARTMENT:Institute of Forensic Sciences

 

HOURS: 40 Hours Per Week

 

SALARY:Commensurate With Experience

Based On 26 Pay Periods

 

EDUCATION:  Completion of an Associate’s degree and completion of histology 
school with histo-technician certification (ASCP) American Society of Clinical 
Pathologist at the time of employment or within one year of employment.  

 

EXPERIENCE:  One year of experience in a histology laboratory in which 
responsibilities included production of stained slides and preservation of 
tissue samples in both paraffin and formalin.

 

JOB SKILLS:  The successful applicant must have expertise in the use of 
microtomes, manual staining procedures, manual slide coverslipping, automated 
slide stainers, automated slide coverslipper, tissue processors and tissue 
embedding.  Must be capable of understanding and adhering to strict protocols 
for the handling, trimming and archival of tissue samples and blocks; knowledge 
of histology laboratory safety rules and procedures is essential.  Good 
interpersonal skills are a must. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Prepares stained slides of autopsy tissues in a careful 
controlled environment.  Prepares paraffin blocks of tissue for long-term 
storage and labels the samples in accordance with histology laboratory 
protocols; assists with archival of paraffin-embedded and non-paraffin-embedded 
formalin fixed tissues. Provides all tissue slides to the assigned Assistant 
Medical Examiner, Deputy Chief Medical Examiner or Chief Medical Examiner on a 
timely basis; assists with entry o data into a computerized database to track 
laboratory efficiency as required.  Other job assignments as assigned by the 
Deputy Chief Medical Examiner.  Position requires a high level of 
confidentiality, responsibility and dependability. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of 
time; able to lift up to 40lbs; stooping and bending may be required.

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:

Reports to the Laboratory Manager and is responsible for coordinating and 
directing activities of assigned section and subordinates engaged in performing 
routine and non-routine histology procedures. In doing so, ensures quality and 
quantity standards relating to the delivery of laboratory services are achieved 
by assuring results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.  In collaboration with the Laboratory Manager plans, coordinates, 
monitors and oversees work of assigned section and subordinate personnel 
engaged in performing histology procedures needed to obtain data for disease 
diagnosis and treatment.
2.  Accomplishes, or effectively recommends the following:
*Prepares schedules to assure adequate coverage.
*Assigns work
*Counsels employees on work or working relationships
*Arranges and/or conducts job training, continuing education.
*Approves time worked
*Completes employee orientation for assigned section.
*Interviews, hires, and evaluates the performance of and, when 
necessary, disciplines and discharges subordinate supervisory personnel.
*Approves hiring and, when necessary, discharge recommendations of 
subordinate personnel and assists in resolving complex employee relations 
matters.
3.  Ensures all technical procedures are performed correctly. Procedures 
with higher priority are completed first, equipment has proper maintenance 
performed and kept in good working order.
4.  Reviews and evaluates new products, equipment.
5.  Evaluates and implements new procedures as necessary.
6.  Makes supply decisions with sufficient accuracy so no supplies run out 
or remains beyond the expiration date.
7.  Responsible for daily quality control and quality assurance to include 
establishing training and maintaining Q.C. and Q.A  protocol with subordinate 
staff.
8.  Coordinates monthly QA and QC data.
9.  Ensures that laboratory section meets all safety and other regulatory 
requirements.
10.  Effectively manages technical aspects of hospital accounts
11.  Gathers information and carries through to completion assigned projects 
while adhering to established time frames.
12.  Prepares periodic reports as necessary.
13.  Assures activities of assigned section are coordinated to insure quality 
patient care and economics of operation.
14.  Participates in continuing education as required.
15.  Consults with LIS Administrator to troubleshoot LIS problems and

17.  Maintains all section records relating to operation such as quality

position are 8:00pm-4:30am.
