Are used to work for Roche. The HE600 is an option that I would not choose. The
instrument has too many moving parts and the rate of service is much higher
than any of the dip and dunk strainers on the market. The reagents are
proprietary, so you are forced to use Roche staining reagents. The Dako H
strainer is bad too.

Re: [Histonet] Stainer comparisons

2022-08-15 Thread RENE MORALES via Histonet
Toni, hope my 5 cents contribution will Help in deciding your future auto
stainer.
I have experience in Sakura units, 6 + years, and an old Leica unit, 10 +
years.
The most positive feature for the first unit is that once is giving the proper
maintenance is that it works pretty well, the good advantage is that you can
load in every oven, (coming with 2 oven dwells), but if you overloaded it will
delay your H staining. I think with other models is occurring the same
results…
Other advantage now is that you can attach an automatic cover slipper.
(Film cover slipped)…
It’s important to have at least 2 units for a big number of H slides…
I was working in a facility with at least 45 hundred H slides, no counting
levels per protocols, recuts, etc.,
The only downside for all units, is that they cannot left without proper
regular maintenance and service.
At this moment you may have almost decided which unit serves your lab needs
better.
Thanks for your reply,

Rene,

I have the information from the vendors as you suggested. What I'm looking for
is opinions. If you (or anyone else on histonet) have experience with either or
both of these stainers, I'd like to know what you feel are the best features.
Also looking to see what features are not as well praised or useful. Which
specials do you run, and how do they compare to what you were previously using?
How did getting one of these stainers impact your day-to-day operations? Did
the positives outweigh the negatives, if there were any.

Thank you,
Toni

Toni, the complete information can be found on the manufacturer specifications
for these auto stainers. The only factor to be solved, no matter what
instrument you will be selecting, is that you keep close monitoring of the
service required for them. Important to be on the correct TAT.

[Histonet] Stainer comparisons

2022-08-15 Thread Rathborne, Toni via Histonet

Good morning all,

We're at the point where we are looking at replacing our H stainer, and I'm
wondering what opinions are out there about the Leica HistoCore Spectra ST -
High Throughput Routine & Special Stainer and the Sakura Prisma Plus Special
Stainer Configuration. What specials do you run on these stainers? Does this
significantly increase the TAT of the H slides? Overall, what do you like or
not like about either?

Thank you,

Toni
