Re: SV: [hlds] FPS Stuck at 64

2005-01-12 Thread Tony
Why again are we so concerned about the FPS rating on the console?

Mine is stuck at 64 as well.

All shots are registered just fine on the server.
Players have amazingly low pings.
Choke? Haven't seen any of it myself.

Server is a 32 player server.
Even at full load and untweaked, it was handling everyone flawlessly.
Barton 2x00 (I forget the rating on the chip, it's been overclocked to
2200/400 since I first got it). 1Gb ram. Windows XP Pro SP2.

So tell me again why I should be concerned about the 64 FPS cap?

(honestly, I'd really like to know how this pertains to actual
performance as far as the server, because at 64, I'm not seeing any
problems. Should I be?)

Interestingly enough, no. I didn't have that variable in the
 server.cfg at all

I've added it though, and set it to 1000. Now if only I could get
that dern 'stats' command to give me the server FPS I could let you
 know if it helped.

but i guess you changed max_fps to 512 or ?

I'm running the most up to date CSS on a windows Server 2003 box.
The FPS still drops every day, so I restart the server daily. But
my problem was that on startup, it would start at only 64 FPS. So
running WMP in the background while the server is running moved my
box to a constant 512 FPS.

Does this also work on the new css version ? Isnt that only for
the old CS server? My server is running at 256 all the time, just
if it runs longer than 1 day or so it begins to drop 128... 64..?
   Kind regards,

RE: [hlds] Muiltiple hl2 servers

2005-01-12 Thread ray
The proper switch is +port 27016

The way you are using it the game is just taking the next available port
from 27015 on as it doesn't recognize the improper switch.

Hi all. Im running multiple hl2 servers. On three different nics.

I am using server doc to monitor the servers if they crash.

One. There is a memory error that serverdoc cant click ok to restart the
server. I have to manually do this. know what this is about?

Two: Im setting in serverdoc and in the cmd line after +ip +hostport 2701x

I even tried in server.cfg and in the valve file.

The problem is it doesn't always start on that port. I have a two dm on one
ip. one starts on :27015 (which is fine)

And I want the second to be on :27017 (because everyone already has
favorites there)

But everytime I start the second server (being source or dm) it doesn't go
to the assigned host port.

It goes to :27016

Any ideas?

Thanks you all ( hope you has a great New Yest)
