Serverdoc is another tool you may wanna take a look at - http://www.serverdoc.com - I use firedaemon to run serverdoc as a service process, which in turn spawns srcds.exe - serverdoc will restart instances that freeze/hang as well as just crash. RE: [hlds] Closing & Restarting Crashed Game servers
Correct, Firedaemon may not restart it properly if there is a dialog box with a memory read error. You can however edit you registry to get rid of most of those pop-ups. Edit the value of ErrorMode under hklm\system\currentcontrolset\control\windows to either 1 or 2 to reduce those pop-ups from Windows itself (memory read errors). Re: [hlds] FAO VALVE: No autoswitch?
You ask in a different list about Valve ignoring questions. Well I have been on this list about 6 months (i.e. not very long) but I have noticed this. When someone asks a new technical question, a question that you can't find by looking on the first page of a google search or, in your case, by looking through the options page, they respond. Just be fortunate that there are hundreds of other excellent server admins that are on this list that are nice enough to help people out. Please don't try to tell them that you don't want to listen to what they have to say because they don't work for Valve. Re: [hlds] HOLY CRAP WTF?!
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Actually I prefer that people top post. Its a mailing list If I am following a conversation I will already be familiar with the discussion, and I do not want to waste time scrolling through crap I've already read. In any case, gmail is the best mail client I've found for dealing with this sort of communication method. Until some tard decides to reply to the entire digest. As they say, you can make something foolproof, you just cannot not make something absolutely foolproof! :) On 5/26/05, Rick Payton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > When I started posting on this mailing list, I just read for a while > before posting, and when I did post I wanted to make sure I followed the > etiquette I perceived was there - post on top, quoted text on bottom. > > AKA I am a sheep :) > > In forums though, I keep it the other way. > > Rick Payton, IT Support > Morikawa & Associates > (808) 572-1745 > http://www.mai-hawaii.com/ > > -Original Message- > Subject: Re: [hlds] HOLY CRAP WTF?! > Rick Payton wrote: > > see back in my BBS days and even in forums I've always put the quoted > text on top and "responded" to it underneath. > > Rick > > -Original Message- > > Subject: Re: [hlds] HOLY CRAP WTF?! > > > > that's funny, always been 'reply at top with quote under' as long as I > Except for this one? ;P > - m0gely > > ___ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds > -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
