I don't know why you tried to negate me, but that's fine (although wrong).
The elite service provides 384kbps, all other BB services provide 256kbps up.

For the guy with the original problem, have you checked about this service:

[hlds] HLSW & Status command

via HLSW in addition to the server activity i see something keeps execing the 
status command and it shows up, I'm not sure if it is a HLSW thing or it's 
natural in srcds.(still new to it). If there is a way to disable that plz let 
me know.

[hlds] Firewall Ports

Hi,

I'm just configuring iptables on my linux server.
I'm running 3 Counter-Strike Source dedicated servers there. From the
steampowerd FAQs I got information that port 27015/udp and 27015/tcp
should be allowed.Also when you use srctv you also have to allow
27020/udp.

My 3 gameservers don't use srctv. So from the information I got there
I only have to open tcp&udp ports matching the "+port" statement from
my commandline. This should be 6 open ports for 3 gameserver
instances.

BUT:

when i take a look at "netstat -ap" which gives me a list of open
ports i get the ones mentioned in the documentation
tcp0  0 foo.bar.com:27015   0.0.0.0:*   LISTEN
4079/srcds_amd
tcp0  0 foo.bar.com:27016   0.0.0.0:*   LISTEN

Actually, liblist.gam is no longer used. If your server is up to date
(and you can check this by running hldsupdatetool with the "-verify_all"
flag) then you are VAC secure by default. If you don't want to run VAC
then add "-insecure" to the command line when launching the server (or
tick that box in the GUI tool).

Actually, liblist.gam is no longer used. If your server is up to date
(and you can check this by running hldsupdatetool with the "-verify_all"
flag) then you are VAC secure by default. If you don't want to run VAC
then add "-insecure" to the command line when launching the server (or
tick that box in the GUI tool).

HLDS and SRCDS run secure by default (when using the console mode, i.e
"-console" on the command line).

Yah but then my regualr map rotation will kick in, and
i'd rather not have to edit all the configuration
files back and forth, right now I can changelevel and
my rotation just kicks in with timelimits, special
configs for each map, and map voting...  =/

Set the server up with a single map, map rotation, that is what we do.
 Also, restarting the map periodically, shakes the teams up and stops
players whoring one side constantly.

[hlds] What happened to the pre-announce and announcement of patches?

Hey Alfred,

What happened to the Pre-Announcement of upcoming Steam patches and then 
the Announcement of the actual patches?  Ive noticed as of late that these 
announcements have not been being made.

I for one, and I'm sure plenty of other admins, rely on these announcements 
since we do not sit around refreshing www.steampowered.com or restarting Steam 
to see if a patch has been released.

Would be appreciated if we can go back to getting advance notice and then the 
announement of these patches.

Something else I'd like to touch on... What are the odds of getting
server patches posted a standalone files? My hosting provider does not
allow me remote desktop access so running the Steam updater is not
possible. The only way I see Im going to be able to apply updates is to
build a server locally and upload it. I dont know how common this is
across hosting companies but it really sucks when it comes time to update.

Change provides to one that provides this service. Simple fix. You get what
you pay for in most cases of hosted services. If you're paying pennies for
your server then you're up the creek chief.

[hlds] respawning is horrible in cs: s

I don't know whats up with cs: s lately but people respawn left and right
its really starting to bug. They die in first 15 seconds then they retry and
respawn and die and retry and respawn. Its ridiculous the cs: s team needs
to make it so u cant retry and respawn after u die its honestly gotten out
of hand with people doing it left and right. Its starting to make me not
want to even pub anymore have you guys noticed this?

What i have

My Problems... Two things..


Whats with the -applaunch 240 i've also seen it set to -applaunch 70, whats the 
differences between these two and what should I use? And how do I get this to 
work with the password, i'm having issues

With that line of code above, the password doesn't work.. What is the PROPER 
syntax for this since the new update came out (Thrusday, Nov 11th).. Maybe i'm 
going about this the entirely wrong way as far as the syntax goes..
