2006-06-14 Thread Andrew Armstrong
Anyone having issues with a linux update? My server reckons its up to date
(updated hl2mp, and Counter-Strike Source, used verify_all for both) and its
version is:

 Exe version 1.0.0.8 (hl2dm)
 Exe build: 14:16:04 May 21 2006 (2752)

Disabled the /addons folder

Windows server which is working says

 Exe version 1.0.0.8 (hl2dm)
 Exe build: 15:20:31 May 26 2006 (2757)

Thanks,

I for one am not pointing any fingers at Valve for the 3rd party mods that
are broken, they tend to break with every update anyway. I was just trying
to point out what this latest update broke, constructively, in hopes of

We try to however and I am sorry we missed this one. We are also working

party program problems will need to be fixed by the 3rd parties

Metamod Source also no longer works, and any Eventscripts that access the
player health property crash the server.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Update Released
June 14, 2006, 2:50 pm ยท Jason Ruymen
Updates to the Half-Life 2: Deathmatch have been released. The updates
will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The
specific changes include:

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch

   * Players now respawn with a small amount of invincibility to
prevent spawn camping
   * Weapon bindings can now be configured from the UI
   * Added a timeleft command
   * Added a mp_restartgame  command
   * Added a sv_report_client_settings command. If server logging is
enabled, setting this server variable to 1 will log the cl_cmdrate
command from the client's machine
   * Fixed an exploit with the shotgun reload
   * Fixed an exploit with the gravitygun being able to move objects
very quickly
   * Fixed an exploit where certain players could hide and shoot from
some objects
   * Fixed an exploit where players could move around very fast if
they suicide with a box on their head

Since I could not be 100% sure which STEAM Forum moderator locked the
perfectly legitmate thread, I'm afraid you all get tarred with the same
brush, even if you did not agree with the actions of the moderator in
question.

Hell, the existance of the thread explained to a great deal of people, which
many of them thanked me for in the thread, for explaining to them something
were not aware of, and more importantly, an issue 95% of the respondants
thought was a very serious issue in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTING game.

This is the issue I raised in the forums with proof below so those of you
will know what the hell it is I am talking about:

The original version of this thread had not degenerated into spam.
