Re: [hlds] HLDS-My Dedicated server does not show in master server list

2006-07-19 Thread Ook

I have sv_region 255, isn't that global, IE everyone sees it?

if the other ppl can connect when given the ip and port would that suggest
that the region is not correctly set? i had thsi problem when i ran a 1.6
server about a year ago. Everything was perfect except i could see it in
the master list. I did some research and discovered that the region my
server was annoucing to was wrong (i think it was set to global). so have
a look around for info on setting the region (i would give you more but
it's 100F here in the uk and my cpu monitor is alarming so i gtg)

[hlds] Srcds Console Log

2006-07-19 Thread Frazer
This is a multipart message in MIME format.
--
[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
Two questions.

1. Am I correct in that the -debug command line argument causes a
console.log file to be created with srcds launches?

2. If so, is there a way to specify the directory into which the log
file is saved?

Dont use the one in the Steam Tools list because if Steam Crashes, it
takes the server with it, PLUS it uses up a perfectly good Steam Account.

I would recommend that you don't use the dedicated server in the Steam
directory.

Create a fresh install using the hldsupdatetool:

Address the specific issues/answers we have asked:

What specific router are you using? What ports did you forward? How did you
configure your firewalls? What firewalls are you using? Did you run
hldsupdatetool to ensure your hlds installation is up to date? What mod are
you running? What is your IP address? How much upload bandwidth do you
have?>

Patience, grasshopper. These things can take time. Answer the questions.
Every one of them. Details, please.

Its down at the moment for me too, it seems to do this every so often,
i'm not sure if they have a problem with their host or what.

If you leave it a few hours or a day or two it will most likely be
back up again, has been every time this has happened to me anyway.

v1.0.0.50 is the one i'm using at present, i've not checked for a
little while though so there might be a newer version available
somewhere.
