2008-06-12 Thread Doorman
Ummm, and who gives a fuck? Would you guys stop treating this list like your
personal forums? I'm tired of my Inbox getting slammed with this kind of
nonsense.

I'm not implying that either of you are right or wrong, only that this is
not the place to have this personal debate.

Re: [hlds] tf2 material wallhacks

2008-06-12 Thread JDoc0512
uh no I didn't miss the point and you should stop replying with obnoxious
remarks
I see that you are very ignorant and in expereinced about hacks...

admins deserve to know if there's any new exploits but they shouldn't attempt
to get hacks to test if their servers are secured or not

hacks are not the same thing as exploits... illegit custom models are
hacks not exploits

Re: [hlds] tf2 material wallhacks

2008-06-12 Thread SakeFox
I think you kinda went way over what he was requesting from the
community. He hasn't setup the whitelist before and wants to do it
correctly. It wasn't necessarily looking for "hacks". He was looking for
the materials so that while he was messing with the whitelist that he
would know it would block the ones that he is having problems with.
can be tricky to set that whitelist up correctly with no guide. Looks
like you read about half of what he wrote before you jumped to a conclusion.
Yes there are hacks that bypass everything, but the whitelist does at
least help with the simpler hacks that VAC wont catch.

at any rate, there's hacks that bypass sv_pure 2 and using "secure" whitelist
so what's your point? share hacks so they get spread even more to the public?

Re: [hlds] tf2 material wallhacks

2008-06-12 Thread Andreas Grimm
Thanks for the link Cc2iscooL,

I have 18 gameservers and complaints about wallhackers per day. This is
NOT funny ;P

I think the most of them are using those kind of hacks ... and I can't run
pure 2, because I am using a lot of custom stuff server-side, too ... so
need to know which files are used for the wallhacks.

Don't be stupid. A proper server admin would test these sorts of things.
Maybe he is just a player looking for the materials but it's still
highly doubtful seeing as he knows what the sv_pure 1 whitelist -is-.
Don't point blame.

Re: [hlds] tf2 material wallhacks

2008-06-12 Thread Cc2iscooL
No, what I'm saying is, just because he's asking about them doesn't mean
he's looking for material hacks. Also, it is impossible for Valve to do
anything about material changes besides the whitelist, so what's the
point of hiding the files? If he's a server admin, by chance, and you're
pushing blame, then you're just making yourself look silly.

Re: [hlds] Team Fortress 2 Update

2008-06-12 Thread Tony Paloma
I was having this problem when the last update first came out, but it was my
plugin that was causing it. Are you sure you are running no plugins?

I was able to fix my plugin by removing the engine->ServerExecute() call I
had in LevelInit.

I'm unable to execute anything on the client like that, unless they were to
download a plug-in and run it on their client, which they could do, but I
doubt I could do anything with it when they finally get on the server.

And I don't feel like exploring that too much in fear of getting a VAC ban
triggered.

I would imagine voogru's system checks for hooks into the client.dll as most
cheats do that. Of course, I could be wrong, only voogru would know how
voogru's system works. Using that method, however, can bring up false

A la VAC.

I would imagine voogru's system checks for hooks into the client.dll as most
cheats do that. Of course, I could be wrong, only voogru would know how
voogru's system works. Using that method, however, can bring up false
positives.

The problem is if every server can run it, the cheaters can get a hold of it
and develop counters to it, while it has an automatic system that detects
some cheats, admins can invoke it on players who are blatantly cheating.

And it records a server demo of every single use for YouTubing purposes.

known for this... our first incident 8( I wonder if he paid for that

I just tried installing OB game (TF2) and gmod, both installed to

What command line did you use to install gmod with?
