At the moment, on Linux atleast, the -nobreakpad option is broken. Cheers, Kyle. I think once minidumps are uploaded to valve they get deleted which is why you don't see them. They should keep a local copy after uploading even if we can't fully debug them. Re: [hlds] Dumps of Crashes/Hangs on CS:S and TF2 servers, Windows 2003
Yeah I tried this, but just had my server hang again. One difference though, I couldnt find a dump in C:/dumps where it seems to put them now. But it doesnt help with the hanging, at least for me. - Original Message - From: "1nsane" <1nsane...@gmail.com> To: "Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list" Sent: Sunday, August 22, 2010 04:41 Subject: Re: [hlds] Dumps of Crashes/Hangs on CS:S and TF2 servers,Windows 2003 There definitely was a bot related crash, might still be. I stopped running bots on some of my CSS servers because of it. I talked with a guy from HPE sometime around the CSS beta (limited one) in regards to bots crashing, and he said that they were aware of it. Fairly certain Valve's breakpad thingie was spamming them with minidumps referencing bot crashes. Talking of which, those of you with freezing issues. Try starting your server with -nobreakpad. This way it won't send the minidumps to valve after crashing (unfortunate for crash stats gathering though) but it might just restart without hanging. That solved my hang issues on Linux anyway. Haven't had a server hang since.
