My CS:S Server doesn't appear to be executing the server.cfg / autoexec.cfg or even working with +exec server.cfg on the commandline. Am I being an idiot? Or just doing it wrong? RE: [hlds] CS:S private server
Have you tried setting the password on the command line as well? I can't currently get my server to run the server.cfg file even if I put +exec server.cfg it just says couldn't exec server.cfg. (Although it is linux not win32) I had to set everything via the command line, I've not tried with sv_password yet but will when I get home. I have verified that sv_password is set on my server. However, clients are never prompted to enter a password when connecting. I tried using nomaster (both in the cfg and command line) - the server still shows. Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks! [hlds] CS:S Logging
Does CS:Source log like standard counter-strike at all? I've tried to turn it on the same way as counter-strike but its not working. Or is this feature not yet implemented (I presumed it would be cause logs = rather helpful for testing) Cheers, Ned ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
RE: [hlds] Steam Release
I'm interested in running a UK Content server, does anyone know how you go about it, who to speak to, server/Bandwidth requirements e.t.c? I've got loads of rack space and bandwidth shouldn't be a problem. Ned -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steven Hartland Sent: 08 July 2004 13:18 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [hlds] Steam Release Ok an update on this I started the update at 8am this morning its now 1pm. The update has failed several times its currently trying to download from http://www.computergames.ro specifically: 213.157.170.81 Doing a simple trace show that said content server's connectivity is dire, giving 300ms pings and high packet loss. Yes the .ro server may be at like 10% load on the steam status page but from here it looks like is overloaded at about 1%. There is no point in having content servers which are this badly connected. Also can we get an update to steam that does a quick threaded download test from the available content servers in the given "area" and uses the quickest.. Either that or the option to manually specify a download server. RE: [hlds] OT: X-Spectate : Any thoughts?
Doesn't AMX or clanmod have the ability for admins to take screenshots on clients PC's? I don't think it timestamps them and the screenshot needs to be uploaded though. Trouble is however, I'm not sure it takes a shot of what is actually being seen on the screen, i.e. a screenshot directly from video memory would be the only useful thing, which is how I think Punk buster used to do it. Regards, Ned -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ryan Lewis Sent: 24 May 2004 15:29 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [hlds] OT: X-Spectate : Any thoughts? In total agreement mate. The ability for the admin to download a screenshot would absolutely rock, and hopefully enough people would come forward to support this so that it is actually implemented. The only problem I forsee with it though is privacy concerns. Punkbuster was optional back then and is still optional now for games that use it (although its more or less mandatory, as most servers use Punkbuster anyway). Someone is bound to kick up a fuss, even though the majority couldn't care less. CSGN in the UK have quite an interesting plugin on their servers. At a convienient time during the game (freezetime for example) the server will take a screenshot on the client PC with a timestamp on it, and that screenshot then has to be uploaded to a webpage after the match. The admins then review the screenshots. If only CSGN released their plugin(s), or someone developed something along the same lines, or of course, Valve could just introduce the ability for an admin to grab a screenshot :) Regards, Ryan Lewis [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: "[YG]Sharza" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, May 24, 2004 2:04 PM Subject: SV: [hlds] OT: X-Spectate : Any thoughts? > > The program has good intentions, noone can argue that, but I do forsee VAC > > flagging this as a cheat pretty darn soon, and I ain't too sure about the > > EULA agreement being broken when using this program. RE: [hlds] DOD 1.2 CPU ARGHHHHHHHHH
If the usage was kept constant in each patch it would be fine, the trouble is it's up and down like a yo yo (well just up recently) and that makes it very hard to plan things. Might also be nice if they let the players know about the increased usage so they understand when servers have to be taken down or things start going pear shaped. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kevin Ottalini Sent: 20 May 2004 09:23 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [hlds] DOD 1.2 CPU ARGH looks like linux servers are doing much better, for once the shoe is on the other foot ... - Original Message - From: Ian Shaw Sent: Thursday, May 20, 2004 1:08 AM Getting the same here.
