It's one thing to be unable to play a game cause your rig makes the game run 100x faster then it was meant to run cause the game is so old. Even then you can usually tweak it to be playable. But if in the long run it gets rid of some of the retarded assed exploits that are currently apart of the source engine that will be nice. I haven't exactly played the beta so i can't say whether the changes are good or bad. I think the most important part is being able to have regular updates that will fix the exploits that come about. Some of Valves responses to exploits insofar that have been documented and given to them is either a slipshod patch or no response at all. I can appreciate them not responding because they were going to move to OB and eliminate a bunch of work that would have been trashed anyways. But we'll see. Hi, I could write a quick tool for it. However, I can't find that on B1095 in my server.dll (TF2). All I get is a 0xC0 value. We might want to split this topic from the main topic. The function returns a proprietary USERID_t structure and two of the bytes are the '1'. If someone really wants their STEAM_0 back, open server.dll, go to B1095 and change 0x01 to 0x00. Re: [hlds] Please VALVe, keep the STEAM_1 now
So you're saying because you don't got problems with it. Valve should keep it? It's not TF2 and DoD:S that are affected. Even GMod is affected by it and our achievement system in there works with SteamIDs and uniqueIDs. I need to program myself an application that changes 26000 text files. It's just that Valve doesn't do any communication about this. They could atleast announced it. But no, Valve sucks so much they just do what they want. Re: [hlds] Left4Dead Client CPU Usage
When I got multicore rendering on, my CPU (both cores) is around the 100% (sometimes for a few seconds 95%). When I disable that multicore rendering option it runs around 60% CPU usage and without stuttering and such. The other options have been maxed and I normally play on 1680x1050. Changing the resolution and other video settings didn't help. But I'm happy the multicore rendering thing fixed my problem :) . I don't got any reason to do so actually. With multicore rendering off it works like a charm. Or does multicore rendering normally give better quality or performance?
