Date: Thu, 2 Jun 2005 20:17:57 +1000 Reply-To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com I have looked into both mani and mini admin mods, they are both bloated with options that serves no purpose, other than to let the admin screw around with players. http://qoda.net/cssource/minimumadmin/doc/ and http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/forums/ Are both bloated, resource hogs and far too buggy, god knows what security holes they have in them as well. CS:S needs a few more CVARs to assist admin who like to run the game without add-ons to regulate the servers. We have our own log parsers that assist us via IRC channels, but we are unable to make spots that are password protected, spots that allow us to join without having to kick PAYING customers, it's called running a BUSINESS. Don't tell me I'm stubborn when you only see what I type in this, you have no idea who I am or what I do, other than the statements I have made here, so keep your steam forums diatribe out thanks. I would be interested to see the raw statistics you used to support the above comments. Mani __ Mani mod has been one of the best mods we have used , with frequent updates and easy user operation/installation. I know for a fact that 20-30 members with rcon to 2/3 servers would be complete chaos with this mod its a breeze to keep tabs on who is doing what to who etc We use vanilla css servers and there isnt much between them , Except the mani mod server kicked some cheats. Re: [hlds] Server Listings
Alfred if 5 or more clients on a 20 man server had rates of 25000 or ,and cmd and update rates of 100 100 [seen them with 101/101] would it cause the server to lag? If so are there any plans to tie this in with Vac2 under rate hacking or are we stuck with the fools who think it improves their aim but really warps them about Its just the server lags up usually when a few players have daft rates. Still looking for dod:s and vac beta info if you are in a good mood. Take it easy For all you snobs moaning about emails hope my post was readable i wrote it in scottish for you. Re: [hlds] No steam logon [vac2 error]
Well excuse me.. Maybe i was a bit off the handle but i do not have time to check my emails for punctutation. Sorry if my last post was offensive. This is one occasion where i do have time. vac2 / beta? is back so its all good. Take it easy no hard feelings. I was in a bad mood as someone hacked our website and deleted all our results/upcoming matches sorry. Yours sincerely TrickyB www.evo-clan.co.uk ___ Sorry, but I have to agree here. Your email in question contained only one instance of punctuation and randomly placed carriage returns, and wasn't anywhere near readable. Is it really so hard to actually write like everyone else on the planet does? There's a reason it's done that way. It is so that people can easily and quickly read what you are saying and not have to expend lots of unnecessary time and thought in trying to figure out when you are starting and ending sentences. And then you explode when someone calls you on it. Grow up. I'm sure we can all read and speak english here. The problem is you don't know how to, or choose not to, write properly in english. Probably the latter. Randomly placing carriage returns, avoiding punctuation almost entirely, and doing things like using "u" when you actually mean "you" is not what anyone would call communicating effectively.
