[hlds] I need a simple Admin plugin
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hi, I need a simple Admin Plugin. All it needs to do is allow reserved slots, inable me to give admins map change/kick/ban. I run Plan of Attack, Hidden and Hl2dm servers. I would like a plugin that works with all basic hl2mods. Nothing fancy. I've tried SAP and SourceMM. Neither work with all my mods. Any suggestions/ Thanks, Scott -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] I need a simple Admin plugin
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Yes, mani, xphan, sap and sourcemm. Mani sort of works for somethings, but not reserved slots. And its got a ton of things in it I would never use. Re: [hlds] Server Admin needs?
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Ive been running our communitys servers since 1999. Our current game servers are H-L1 Natural Selection, HL2DM, HiddenSource, DoDs and a rented BF2 Ranked. I know a most plugins have included lots of sounds and specials says with some neat blow up, freeze, set on fire ect. player effects. Most our games are Source based now. These are the things I would want in a plugin in priority order. #1 Cross mod capability. Works with all H-L based games/mods. #2 Reserved slots #3 The ability to give kick/ban to some admins. #4 The ability to change maps to some admins. These may not make your plugin the most popular, but it would be the most usefull to me. -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
[hlds] Motd Srcoll Bars
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Have things changed with the MOTD? I use to just point the motd to my website, that dosn't work anymore it just shows up as a link. It seems that now I have to use head tags like this: head titleHL2MP MOTD/title meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 meta http-equiv=Refresh content=0;url=http://www.mysite.com/index.htm; /head It works this way but I get some very nasty, ugly purple checkerboards missing texture image for the scroll bars. I can handle the code for the redirect but can any point me in the right direction on how to fix the scroll bars? Re: [hlds] Bad handshake??
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] It showed up about 3 patches ago. Its valve/steam using and old protocol for server inquires. Your just allowing the quires. Re: [hlds] Low FPS even with pingbooster
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I was asking the same questons 2 days ago. This may not help you with your preformance issues but it will tell you everything you need to know about framerates/tickrates. It also has a niffty fpsping boost utility thats really sweet. I went from 20-60 fps to 500 empty 200+ full server fps using this guide. Also a lot of my clients are commenting how aim has improved with the high 100 tickrate our servers run at. Hope this helps! http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=threadid=293285 -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] Low FPS upon startup for DoD:S
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I'm confused. Why do we care what FPS the server gets? The max fps for a server dosn't affect the clients max fps. Why should I care if my server console pulls 60 or 300 fps? Wouldn't forcing my console window to 300 fps waste server resources that could be use better by my clients? I'm not flamming, I really want to know. I've been running h-l servers for 5 years and always pull 60-70 fps on any server config on our rental box. -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] Low FPS upon startup for DoD:S
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Now Im more confused. I've rented a server box for 4 years now. Its a Power Edge p4 2.80 GHz, 1 Gig of ram and Win 2003 server edition out of a data center in Dallas, Texas operating on a network that is fully meshed and redundant with 10 backbone providers. I run a hl2dm, dods and hl1 natural selection mod, 3 different servers off the box. All the servers run great. All 3 of my console windows show 60 to 70 fps. Clients however, depending on their machine, can get well over 100 fps. As the server runs only dos windows I dont see how fps would affect the client or the servers preformance. FPS, Frames Per Second, being 60 or 300 how would this affect the server? As it runs no graphical representation of the game, just dos windows. I'm not uderstanding where fps of a server could affect its preformance. Please explain this to me as the more I know the better servers I can run. -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] Low FPS upon startup for DoD:S
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Thank you! You have taught me something new. I found a good explanation and examples here: http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=108p_created=1093248464p_sid=OsjJ-YQhp_lva=p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTc0JnBfcHJvZHM9MCZwX2NhdHM9MCZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9c2VydmVyIGZwcw**p_li=p_topview=1 So with the machine and network I described, with the info from the link Im going to try this: sv_minrate 5000 sv_maxrate 2 sv_minupdaterate 13 sv_maxupdaterate 120 With a ticrate of 100 and fps_max at 600. Also in that link is a file that allows you to boost fps to 500+ without running windows media player.
