My phone number had been incorrect for 10 years. Now, out of the blue, this
happens. Maybe some manager somewhere figured they could make a ton of money
if they went around and checked everyone's phone numbers, and fined everyone
with bad numbers

hmm net.sol. actually gives "vip" treatment to anyone with more then 5
domains automaticly. Course you pay a premium.. but hey, you get what you
pay for! 11 years for me without a problem with them, and my phone
numbers has never been correct in thier records, let alone some other
information over the years.

They charged me a $9.95 fee because I had a wrong phone number in my
contact
information. I understand that correct contact info is required by law
(yeah, how many people put correct contact info there?), but I moved
recently and then my daughter went into the hospital where she remains 5
weeks later, so I never got around to updating my contact info. The
decision
to charge me a fee was a business decision, not a law, and it irritated
me.
Their "too bad" response to my complaint pissed me off. I have little

kissing flows from you to me. If butt kissing doesn't flow from you to me,
my money will stop flowing from me to you. I have 13 domains registered

totally unaccpetable response, and it is costing them my business.

Well I have multiple domain names.And what not.So I actually use 2
different
companies until my contract runs out with the first company.

www.000domains.com 13.50/yr cheaper than some and pretty good customer
support.Easy interface.
www.theplanet.com I think is 6.99/yr awesome support and they can do the
NS
servers for you. There interface to make changes to the dns are super easy
and I think it updates every hour.It may be longer not really sure.

Personally I'm swapping all mine over to the planet for the simple fact
thats who I've got most of my dedicated boxes through and it makes it
easier
for me to be able to do all my billing ect through the same person.Hope
it
helps some.

Re: [hlds] [OT] Who is your domain registrar?

yahoo domains is by far the best imo. when you first sign up, for
however many years you initially pay from is 2.99 a year. after that it
is only 9.99. I personally really like them. I trust yahoo because they
are a large and prosperous company. Also I can use their name servers
which don't cost any extra which is a large plus. Also a very simple
and clean interface. I had been using dyno names (think that's what it
was) which was ok albeit the interface was pretty slow and clunky. You
can see that yahoo's domain names are working because it manages the
domain for my server and email! http://deliriumservers.com/ (currently
on my home server, don't cry about slow page loads)

My domain registrar irritated me today, so it's time to find another one.
Any referrals? Who is your domain registrar, who would you recommend? I

Well I have multiple domain names. And what not.So I actually use 2 different
companies until my contract runs out with the first company.

www.000domains.com 13.50/yr cheaper than some and pretty good customer
support.Easy interface.
www.theplanet.com I think is 6.99/yr awesome support and they can do the NS
servers for you. There interface to make changes to the dns are super easy
and I think it updates every hour.It may be longer not really sure.

Personally I'm swapping all mine over to the planet for the simple fact
thats who I've got most of my dedicated boxes through and it makes it easier
for me to be able to do all my billing ect through the same person.Hope it
helps some.

RE: [hlds] [OT] Who is your domain registrar?

2006-03-07 Thread CyberGameZone.com
I have used Dotster.com for over 5yrs.

I pay 14.99 a yr. Around Christmas, they go for 6.99.
Thats when I fill up. The admin tool rocks and the
support. And sometimes they allow renewal at 14.99 for
2 yrs.

2006-03-07 Thread Jason O. Washburn
This is who I just switched to. I was with buydomains.com but their
16.99 a year wasn't reasonable anymore. 1&1 is 5.99 a year. I will say
that 1&1 updates much slower than buydomains.com but it is worth the
trade off for the price.

Re: [hlds] [OT] Who is your domain registrar?

2006-03-07 Thread Ook

Yeah, I see that. I have my deadice domain hosted with them, looks like they
are both registrar and host. In fact I use them to host the files for my OP4
server. 1and1 might be a good one...ahh, free privacy features that others
charge $$ for. And I find their email servers to be more reliable then the
outfit that hosts my zootal.com domain. Hmm

I'd also like to add that it is 15/yr for a .com/.net/.org with
directnic. They are located in New Orleans and even during the
hurricanes I didn't suffer from the slightest of problems. Very top

Well, you can pay a reasonable price and go w/ the GoDaddy's, Enom, etc.
of
the world or go with the "internics" of the world... today's Network
Solutions.

For customer's I use GoDaddy; however for my home domain and my business
domain I use Network Solutions... go with the root servers and you'll
never
go wrong.

I was with register.com, but they downgraded the service and still charged
$35/year. In fact, today they still charge $35/year. Hmm, so does network
solutions. I'm not opposed to paying a reasonable price, but $35 a year
is
just not justified anymore. OTOH, I don't want to end up with some fly by
night outfit and have problems when I need to do configuration, transfer,
or
otherwise put my domains at risk.

Unfortunately, my suggestion would be uh GoDaddy cause of price.
Everything else is sorta pointless as it's only a price issue.
Register.com and Network Solutions have the cleanest interfaces IMHO.
