Re: [hlds_linux] Segmentation Fault on install
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I was having this problem for a while...I believe what I did was installed the steam update on another server, ran it once, packed it into a zip, and moved it to the problem server. Worked fine after that. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what I did. That was a long time ago. [hlds_linux] Guest Passes Beta Invitation
Greetings, As many of you are likely aware Valve has just launched a closed beta of a new Steam feature called Guest Passes. The goal of Guest Passes is to enable users who currently own a multi-player game to easily share a temporary trial license with their friends who do not. This will enable new users to try the game risk free and enable you to get your friends online playing with you. As part of this beta we would like to invite all of you, our dedicated server operator community, to participate in the beta. The requirements for the beta are fairly simple: 1) You need Steam, 2) You need to own Day of Defeat: Source. If you are interested in more information on Guest Passes please see the following support link: http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std _adp.php?p_faqid=549 If you are interested in participating in the beta please contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] with your Steam account name. The beta is currently underway and should you choose to participate you will receive notification in the Steam UI once your passes are ready for use. Finally, we should mention that depending on the volume of responses we may cut off participation on a first come first serve basis! Thanks! [hlds_linux] Segmentation Fault on install
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] This started appearing during the auto-update part when I start the server about a few weeks ago. I always start with a fresh install whenever I decide to upgrade the mod that I run. So today, I downloaded the Linux HLDS and tried to install it to a new directory. When I tried to install it, it came up with this [EMAIL PROTECTED]/hlds_l]$ ./steam Checking bootstraper version ... Segmentation fault [EMAIL PROTECTED]/hlds_l]$ The same thing happens when I supply parameters. I am using Vector Linux 5.1on Linux 2.6.13 Is there anything I can do? -- Yami Kaitou -- ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

Re: [hlds_linux] tickrate
Thank you for posting this! I never tought of it. By the way, is there a way to reply to the rcon command issuer? I changed the alias to +alias sys_ticrate "echo sys_ticrate fixed at $RATE fps, contact us for more" , but this only outputs text in console, no reply is sent to rcon command issuer. Is there any other command besides "echo" to output text the way I intent?
