[hlds_linux] Seg Fault with custom maps

2007-06-14 Thread Tom Leighton

Hey guys,

I have a little issue with the Linux srcds -- i copied all the files
from my windows server to my linux box (Converting now my trial has run
out), and updated it.

It updated fine, downloading some new stuff, i then tried launching the
server with this command line.

./srcds_run -console -game cstrike -ip 10.10.0.1 -port 27016 -maxplayers
16 +map de_dust2

works fine, but any custom maps (Any at all) give a segfault.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Re: [hlds_linux] lags at round end since update June 12,2007

2007-06-14 Thread Svensk Ljud Ljus Produktion

net_queued_packet_thread = 1
- Use a high priority thread to send queued packets out instead of sending
them each frame.

This make 0 = send packets each frame.
and 1 = send queued packets out.

I really dont know witch would be best, but if the server must send out
packets at once at start to all - then it might lag ..
but on the other hand - it might be better to get rid of what has do be done
right away .. ?

This makes the lag even worse for the server at hand.
If i set this 0 on another server, it brings round start lag and 2
seconds are gone instantly from the timer before round starts. If i set
this to back 1, lag is gone on the other server.

Since the update June 12, 2007

our Server lags at round end.

Seems like clients get frozen for x seconds like a timeout.
Players miss the beginning of next round, the next they see is that
the round is in progress for e.g. 5 seconds

It starts lagging if server has approximately 12 users playing,

more player = longer lags

We have disabled all plugins like mani admin mod, etc... still the
same
We havent seen any problems like this until the update came out

CPU load is normally between 30 % to 50 %, in case of the lagging the
cpu load jumps up to 70 percent

Re: [hlds_linux] lags at round end since update June 12,2007

2007-06-14 Thread Alex / ch4os

for me, net_queued_packet_thread *0* helped removing the 5 seconds lag
on the end of the round.
BUT, as you already said, it adds even worse lags to the gameplay.

i just don't understand that some servers are running without any
problems and our server... well...
i'm really looking forward to a bugfix for this...

regards,
alex aka ch4os

[hlds_linux] Source Engine Update Available

2007-06-14 Thread Jason Ruymen
Updates to the Source Engine are now available. Previously this was in
Beta, behind src0613. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive this update.
The specific changes include:

- Fixed a client crash
- Fixed sv_allow_wait_commands restricting the server using wait
- Fixed a crash in soundlist command
- Reallowed fps_max value of 0 (= unrestricted fps)
- Fixed exploit that showed spectator radar when not a spectator
- Fixed a crash playing back demo files recorded with the
previously-released engine
- Client forwards server commands it doesn't understand back to the
server
- Allow servers to execute chooseteam in Counter-Strike: Source
- Allow servers to execute retry
- sv_pure 1 now allows custom spray decals by default
- Fixed Has Users Playing checkbox not using the new change where we
only display human players in the players tab, so you'd see servers with
0 players (they actually had only bots) listed

HL2DM clients can see server chat messages only, they can't see other
player's chat text or their own.

I have a client that hasn't been updated yet (3137) and it can see
everything.

Here is the problem specifically:

Protocol version 7
Exe version 1.0.0.12 (hl2dm)
Exe build: 12:32:29 Jun 13 2007 (3140)

hello
CUserMessages::DispatchUserMessage:  Bogus msg type 24 (max == 24)
Couldn't dispatch user message (24)
Netchannel: failed processing message svc_UserMessage.
Fragment transmission aborted at 1/1.

CSS, DODS and HLDMS clients don't appear to have a problem with this so only
HL2DM clients.

This doesn't appear to be related to linux or win32 servers.
