Re: [hlds_linux] [hlds] Weird FPS drops and peaks

2013-03-12 Thread pilger
We do have a few, but I don't understand how the server can be getting
higher than 66.6 FPS values. The plugins are all pretty normal within the
Sourcemod scope and shouldn't be interfering with FPS is this manner.

We've been getting resulsts like this all the time:

20:04:50 CPUIn (KB/s) Out (KB/s) Uptime Map changes FPS
> Players Connects
>164.20 96.36 533.79774 25
> 85.62 28 596
>

The issue is still unresolved.

Any ideas?

[hlds_linux] MvM Matchmaking broken?

2013-03-12 Thread Frank
Just as the title says, last two days I've seen nearly no players in my mvm
servers when normally they stay full 24/7.

Is there something going on?

Re: [hlds_linux] MvM Matchmaking broken?

2013-03-12 Thread Robert Paulson
Matchmaking still works. As I've said before on the mailing list, TF2 is
getting less popular.

Any server owner or player worth their salt has noticed that even though
the maximum concurrent players shown here
http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ hasn't changed much from last year,
players are playing shorter amounts, and servers feel emptier.

No one knows how many people are idling now, but game-monitor seems to be
accurate enough to have the same number (+- 1000) of players for CS:S as
Steam reports. If we use the same source, it shows ~ 40% of TF2 players
listed on Steam stats are idling.

http://game-monitor.com/search.php?game=cstrike2
http://game-monitor.com/search.php?game=tf2

Whether this is due to things like Dota 2, Valve policy changes, TF2
getting old, or lack of gameplay updates, no one can say for sure. MvM is a
PvE game, so it is highly dependent on new content being churned out at
regular intervals.

Re: [hlds_linux] MvM Matchmaking broken?

2013-03-12 Thread Fletcher Dunn
There is a problem with geolocation that affects the matchmaking used for MvM.

We're still trying to gather information as to the cause of this. We hope to
have it sorted today or tomorrow.

Wow! I just realised that this is the first time in the history of me
running an MvM server that most of the players seem to come from
Australia and surrounding countries instead of the US.

I'm always had players with 300+ ping on there - today the majority are
under 100ms.

Whatever the problem with geolocation was, its actually working now.
Good stuff.
