[hlds_linux] Exit srcds
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I want to completely exit out of the srcds program. I have the server running in a screen, but I don't want to kill the screen. Re: [hlds_linux] Exit srcds
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I should elaborate on how the server is set up. I'm not the owner of the server, but he has given me permission to maintain it, so he set up an SSH account for me. The servers are running on screens, but not under my user account - they're running on a 'games' user. If I were to kill the screen, I wouldn't be able to create a new screen under the 'games' user since I don't have the privileges to do so. I just wanted to know of a more 'graceful' exit command to quit out of the srcds program; instead of using 'ctrl + c' or killing the screen altogether. I guess it doesn't matter. Would be useful for the future, though. On 10/30/05, James D [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: If the server is shut down what is the point of having a screen running? Kill the server, kill the screen. Re: [hlds_linux] Mario_air, Mario_land, Mario_kart and other maps
It is most likely that the maps are edited with ripent, or some similar program that lets you change entities without having to recompile the .bsp. That, or there could be some kind of server side plugin which lets you do that. --[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]Hey I'm running the BAW clan dod server and I've seen these maps working onother dod servers but they don't run properly on mine. The maps areorigonally hldm maps and have multiple spawn points like the_yard ordrive_in. The research I've done seems to indicate that I need to edit theentity chunk of the .bsp files in question. The maps load fine in the dodserver environment but players don't spawn. Does anyone have a link to agood tutorial or utility that can convert these maps for me? I've downloadedseveral different versions from different map sites and the result is alwaysthe same... I even tried to use the .bsp from a server that had mario_airworking and got the same result.
