Hello,

I'm currently maintaining a bunch of CSS and CS1.6 servers.

I had a CS 1.6 server crash on me and the client reported its downtime at
7.00pm.

I've restarted the server uneventfully.

I've checked the latest logs, which was dated at 4.00pm.

The last line of the log was cut off in the middle of the sentence

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] ini: Finished reading plugins list:
/home/client1/server/cstrike/addons/metamod/plugins.ini; Found 1 plugins

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] dll: Updating plu:

A couple of minutes before this, the rcon admin did a :

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:21: Rcon: "rcon *numbers* "rconpasshidden" meta
force_unload 1" from "ipaddress:7131"

And then,

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: Rcon: "rcon numbers "rconpasshidden" meta refresh"
from "ipaddress:7131"

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] Refreshing the plugins on demand...

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] ini: Begin re-reading plugins list:
/home/hanchong/server/cstrike/addons/metamod/plugins.ini

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] ini: Read plugin config for:

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] ini: Finished reading plugins list:
/home/hanchong/server/cstrike/addons/metamod/plugins.ini; Found 1 plugins

L 06/17/2007 - 15:54:23: [META] dll: Updating plu

Could this have caused the crash? Is there any logs I can look into further?

Would hope to hear from you seasoned admins with regards to this matter.

Yours Sincerely,

David

RE: [hlds_linux] Source Engine Update Available

2007-06-14 Thread David Chua
Hello,

I'm curious, how is your old hl2dm client able to enter a server without
being updated?

Regards,
David

HL2DM clients can see server chat messages only, they can't see other
player's chat text or their own.

I have a client that hasn't been updated yet (3137) and it can see
everything.

Here is the problem specifically:

] version
Protocol version 7
Exe version 1.0.0.12 (hl2dm)
Exe build: 12:32:29 Jun 13 2007 (3140)

L 06/14/2007 - 20:37:23: "qUiCkSiLvEr<2>" say
"hello"
CUserMessages::DispatchUserMessage:  Bogus msg type 24 (max == 24)
Couldn't dispatch user message (24)
Netchannel: failed processing message svc_UserMessage.
Fragment transmission aborted at 1/1.

CSS, DODS and HLDMS clients don't appear to have a problem with this so only
HL2DM clients.

This doesn't appear to be related to linux or win32 servers.
