Re: [hlds_linux] error Installing hlds With hldsupdatetool failed connect to GeneralDirectoryServer

2013-06-27 Thread Herover
Is it right that the server is a Counter Strike server? As far as I know,
SteamCMD should download the same files as hldsupdatetool does.

Try download steamCMD from ics's link and run this command: ./steamcmd.sh
+login anonymous +force_install_dir ./counterstrike +app_update 90 validate
+quit

If the plugins work with the newest server files from hldsupdatetool, it
should work with SteamCMD files.

Re: [hlds_linux] Anyone else getting spammed with "Unsubscribe"

2013-01-28 Thread Herover
I'm not sure how it works, but perhaps you could submit a unsubscribe
request, and then the other guy would be able to unsub? Or he would
unsub you... I have no idea, but I'm getting the idea, that it's
impossible to unsubscribe (havn't tried, just read) and to block
someone from the list.

As a alternative, it could be done by querying the steam community

Additionally, it have a autoupdating feature which the author did not
advertise before someone reverse engeneerd it, which doesn't make
anything bether since the operator can't disable it.

You are right, and its but it's really anoying that a better
alternative to VAC have to be malicius in this way -- and personally I
won't use it because I don't like someone to have an option to push
code into my server and I don't like someone to take screencaps of my

worked, but it loads everytime just fine right now. Sometimes, the
