[hlds_linux] WHAT ABOUT...
...stopping these silly fights right now? I mean... Valve has put together these great mailing lists for reporting bugs and helping each other. And again and again there are silly discussions about who's right and who's not, who should stfu and what valve isn't able to do blah blah blah... We already have the steampowered forums full of flaming kids crying about everything... Why on earth can't we all act like grown up guys and help each other AND Valve? Would be AWESOME if this could become reality some day... really... Re: [hlds_linux] STEAM id assigned to wrong player
yep, was talking about this and another bug in my "bugs in latest cs:s update" mail :) ===> hello, don't know if these bug reports didn't reach valve so far, but here we go: strange player freeze bug: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=381930 sometimes people freeze after a map change. round starts but nobody can move. mp_restartround 1 doesn't fix this and sometimes even a map change won't work. only solution: restarting the server. map change bug: didn't find a good thread for this on steampowered... following happens: every now and then - right after a map change - the server jumps on to the next map as soon as players are connecting to the current one. so it skips one map before it is even played. this probably happens more often if the current map is not located in mapcycle.txt - don't know exactly. these bugs occur since the latest steam update, with and without 3rd party plugins and on every hardware, primarily or only under linux... greetings, alex <=== - Original Message - From: Scott Pettit To: hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 10:54 PM Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] STEAM id assigned to wrong player I'm seeing servers randomly lock up since the last update and players suddenly become unable to leave their spawn point until I restart the server. Re: [hlds_linux] Added to banned list
just realized i had this line in my config: sv_rcon_banpenalty 20 and i checked... ppl get a 20 min temporary ban. so that it is. they tried to get rcon access and got banned. thank you! i never thought about this. only checked my plugins' config and didn't find any ban-settings :D alex ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
[hlds_linux] Added to banned list
hey all, i just checked my logs and found something interesting i can't explain... from time to time - every 2 weeks maybe - someone gets banned on my server and i don't know why. i don't use unknown scripts so this shouldn't be the problem... log lines are as follows: L1229034.log:453:L 12/29/2005 - 19:53:27: "buTTercup<402>" disconnected (reason "Added to banned list") "Added to banned list" means ban by IP, doesn't it? i don't think it's a VAC ban as that message is something else... has anyone else seen these strange bans before and knows why this is happening? would love to sort this thing out! thank you, alex ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
