Re: [hlds_linux] Bad Standing for TF2

2012-09-02 Thread Webmaster
I believe the way it works (and this is just from personal observation so may
be completely inaccurate) is that you start out with 0, maybe 100+. A positive
score is labeled "Good" and a negative score is labeled "Bad". The scores are
then changed according to what Mart-Jan Reeuwijk said earlier. A client
blacklisting your IP doesn't affect your score. What I've noticed occasionally,
though, is that GC will send me 6 players, my map will change to the map it
requested, but then no one joins. When I run around and do some diagnostics,
nothing seems to be wrong, then about 30 seconds later it will happen again.
This goes on for some time before people actually start to get through, but by
that time (from GC's perspective) it has sent me hundreds of players, and
therefore I've lost thousands of standing points. This might just be some
hard-to-find network bug on my end, but check your logs and see how many
players have connected and then left quickly. If there's a lot of them, that
could explain why your server is trending downwards fast.

Mine as well.

I can't really remember the formula for how points are added, but I seem to
recall something about a player having to play a set amount of minutes (30?)
before his playing in your server actually adds to the score, and if he leaves
before, then points are deducted.

Is it possible that the length of a MvM mission is so short that good players
actually removes points, even though they play a full game?

I get downwards fast rating nearly every time servers are full. Even now
and i have no problems getting them full at any day. When i come home at
work, they are full at this time up to the late night. So i'm thinking
when it actually says that downwards fast, servers are more popular and
go down in _matchmaking_ so that they wont get assigned new players that
often simply because they are full or only few slots open and there are
other servers out there too. This is just my theory but it looks that
way after watching how things work.

Not too worried about it though. I think it could have something to do with the
fact they were 24 slots before, and other servers are taking over in ranking...
Just theory ...

2012-08-30 Thread Saint K .
Our MvM servers mostly display "downward fast" as well, however, there is no
reason for that. Most users complete their game and don't quit rapidly after
joining.

Not too worried about it though. I think it could have something to do with the
fact they were 24 slots before, and other servers are taking over in ranking...
Just theory ...

Hi there,

I have a MvM registered server. While running the server I noticed
that its standing was Bad. I also confirmed this in game via
cl_gameserver_list.

The startup line is:

screen -d -m -S tf-27050 ./srcds_run -console -autoupdate -debug

-nohltv
+servercfgfile server_27050.cfg +map mvm_coaltown

And my server cfg is:

//hostport 27050
//clientport 27051
//steaport 27052 (actually 27053)
//tv_port 27054

hostname "CEID Warfare - MvM"

Have you actually played MvM? :) The only correct value for timelimit is 0.

Everything else just kicks players off "randomly" from their mission,
which is extremely aggravating.

Yes, you're set for matchmaking. "tf_mm_servermode 2" forces you in to the

tf_mm_servermode 2
tf_mm_strict 0
tf_server_identity_account_id 97030
tf_server_identity_token "*"

Aren't the above enough? I thought tf_mm_servermode controlled whether
or not my server is in the quickplay pool.

I think your also missing the part where you need to assign yourself to the
quickplay pool to start off with.

Check the posts around the update to get the right cvar's.

I would just set it to 0.

Rounds reset anyways. At least it works fine for me. Still got plenty of
servers full.

[hlds_linux] Bad Standing for TF2

2012-08-30 Thread feugatos

Hi there,

I have a MvM registered server. While running the server I noticed that
its standing was Bad. I also confirmed this in game via cl_gameserver_list.

The startup line is:

screen -d -m -S tf-27050 ./srcds_run -console -autoupdate -debug

And my server cfg is:

//hostport 27050
//clientport 27051
//steaport 27052 (actually 27053)
//tv_port 27054

hostname "CEID Warfare - MvM"
