I agree - hard to fake : wonid:pass:level Anyway - we still can not get it working on DoD 1.0 servers. - Original Message - From: "antstrength" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 1:59 AM Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Setting up a DoD/HL server. > Using ip is no good for a pub server, because most internet users have > dynamically assigned ip addresses. Re: [hlds_linux] Setting up a DoD/HL server.
Using ip is no good for a pub server, because most internet users have dynamically assigned ip addresses. Why not just use wonid? Re: [hlds_linux] Setting up a DoD/HL server.
I'm not sure whatsup - I cant get AdminMod to work - I upgraded to the beta for DoD v1 and the users in the users.ini can not access the adminmod commands - it tells them its an unrecognized command So I upgraded them to 3111c and still no go... Adminmod is being executed - in the autoexec.cfg and the first map file.cfg Tried adding the: VALVE_1: before their reg. adminmod stuff in the users.ini file and nada - any ideas? Thx! I've got a file called "autoexec.cfg in path\to\Half-Life\dod\, and "C:\Program Files\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe" -console -game dod +exec autoexec.cfg" in the properties section of the icon 'thingy'. This does nothing. I start dod (by double clicking on that icon) and got console. I then typed exec autoexec.cfg. Nothing. With Counterstrike, the autoexec.cfg file went in the cstrike directory, and it ran by itself. Well, usually. > 2) log on > you can also put this into your server.cfg > "log on" This is the server.cfg in /halflife/hlds_l/dod/logs, right? I get a file, but it's 0 length. I'm starting the game as root, and the logfile has is root:root 644, so it should be writeable. Hmm... starting it as a different user (with all the files owned as that user) has the same effect--there is a logfile created, but it has no contents. I am getting logging to the screen though.
