RE: [hlds_linux] pre-load of DoD:Source server?!
So, tomorrow DoD:S will be released and we are not able to download/configure our servers yet. What's the status here? hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com schrieb am 15.09.05 09:47:29: > > The server will be made available a couple days before the client > release, details will be posted to this list then. > > - Alfred > > Original Message > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2005 12:40 AM To: > hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: [hlds_linux] pre-load of > DoD:Source server?! > > > http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=news&id=443 > > > > Pre-loading of DoD:Source began last night, is it possible to load > > the ded. server too? Re: [hlds_linux] pre-load of DoD:Source server?!
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] ps au does it for me. But i was running some linux performance programs. They log averages. During heavy load and light loads of the day. But during heavy loads it shows my machine running a 26 slot dod server, a 2nd 26 slot dod server, 16 slot CS:S server, and a 16 slot hl2dm server. All amost full and the CPU usage was like 80%. But knowing how dod is, i expect dod:s to use more cpu resource then cs:s. But i'm wondering. Source supports 64 slots. I know CS:S maps were not made to support 64 players on a map. Maybe a map like charlie could support 64 players but very few offical maps will support 64 players. So i'm going to assume running a 32 slot dod:s server. What kind of impact is that going to do on our server? It's just i dont expect many people to know this. Thats why i've asked alfred because i'm sure they've tested the Source Dedicated Server like crazy. If he can give me some of the machine's he has run DOD:S on and what were there average CPU % On 9/15/05, aXeR (AmmoBOX) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > By average load I assume you are referring to the 5minute average (the 1st > number out of the 3 along the top line of 'top' > > If so, that does not represent CPU load, it represents how many processes > are waiting for cycle time iirc. > > Regards, > > - Original Message - > From: "Simon Lange" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: > Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2005 4:23 PM > Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] pre-load of DoD:Source server?! > > > > Hi Mahmoud > > > >> -Original Message- > >> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >> [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > >> Mahmoud Foda > >> Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2005 5:00 PM > >> To: hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com > >> Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] pre-load of DoD:Source server?! > >> > >> -- > >> [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] ohhh riight. > >> Can't wait to get it and play around. By average load I assume you are referring to the 5minute average (the 1st number out of the 3 along the top line of 'top' If so, that does not represent CPU load, it represents how many processes are waiting for cycle time iirc.
