I imagine something like HLStatsX, StatsMe or something of the like was
running as er the "customization parsing" of the player index.

*Host_Error: Bogus player index during customization parsin*

I get svc_bad almost everyday but that second part is new to me.

2008-12-08 Thread Faustas Buškevičius
While all of the above might hold true, I have noticed that this
usually happens a few minutes after a map starts. Couple of years ago
I have read somewhere that it does indeed usually happen soon after a
mapchange and it is associated with one or more of the clients'
connections lost/broken/time-outing. A svc_bad then occured if at
least one "half-open" (i.e. not responding) connection was still in
use and a round-restart happened. I have used a sv_timeout value of 25
instead of default 60 for a few years now and have never seen a
problem since.

Re: [hlds_linux] svc_bad

2008-12-08 Thread Joseph Laws
This is typically tied to text buffer overruns where the mods are
sending a plethora of textual data to the client via console or chat.
Items like some in-depth stat mods, account lookups, etc etc. This
commonly happened with one HLTV Relay host on the market that has a
Steam-ID lookup function that checks league databases. The constant
data stream of that data was often causing svc_bad errors...I imagine
the same is true with plugins moving similar data on a constant basis.

Try this -
http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=67028&highlight=svc_bad
And anyway search in http://forums.alliedmods.net for "svc_bad".
svc_bad mostly happens because of non-default counter strike player
models and one plugin which makes them happen more often - PTB (team
balancer). But thats from my experience. Anyway try -zone 8192
parameter. It can help you a little bit :)
Quoting Daniel Duarte : This happens very often to me too,
especially with 32 slots server. From
what i read this happens when the server is sending too much info at

There is no HLTV on the server.

The odd thing is, when i was running 64bit, it didnt had this errors

Is the server in question fielding a connection from an HLTV by any
chance? I've noticed that SteamID-enhanced HLTVs seem tied to this

The svc_bad thing isn't new. It plagued my server for some time then
just went away. I don't think anyone know why it happens yet. Just
search the archives for the list for svc_bad and you will see this

oh yeah i forgot about the -pingboost . theres some recommendations for you
to try, i use these settings myself and i do alot of testing. so use these
and you should be fine

use -pingboost 2 (theres a good reason for this if you want to know more
please ask)
use sys_ticrate 200

If you want to know more or still have any problems ask me again
, good luck with that

Hi, ive seen this happen on both a windows or linux server. This is
usually
caused by a few of the following things:

ticrate being to high aka sys_ticrate
If your server is abit thin on bandwidth this would cause the samething
This ones rare case but if your sv_maxupdaterate is higher than your
sv_maxrate this can create a bottleneck in connection and cause the kick.

hope this helps,

It happens approx. one time a week, but it is still very annoying and it
sucks because I don't know WHY this happens. By the way, I'm not the
only one who gets kicked - approx. 15-16 people (out of 20) on the same

this to happen during a clanwar. I'm running 3327 build binaries on slack.
