Re: [Hornlist] Re: Re: Horn repair??
I have to say that I also would be considering other options if my repair-person had been working on my horn for four years. Hope you had a good backup horn! Re: [Hornlist] Vienna Phil.
I have a similar experience with a Vienna recording. Never used to like Mahler 6 until I heard their recording made 5-6 years ago under Boulez. The horns were all over those parts with supreme confidence and bravura. I'm going to look for that Sibelius recording. Re: [Hornlist] cases and mouthpieces
Can't recommend these, since I haven't tried them, but Jim Patterson's HornWorks is in L.A., and he offers several custom mouthpieces that it might be worth the trip to try. Though I can't recommend his mouthpieces, I can recommend Jim as an intelligent craftsman interested in his customer's satisfaction. http://www.hornworks.com/mouthpiece.htm Fred Sacramento, CA - Original Message Follows - > Hi listers, > Question 1: The university I attend here in Orange > County, CA just purchased two ProTec hard cases (not gig > bags) for two of their horns (a holton 179 and an old 1924 > Conn Schmidt copy). Re: [Hornlist] Timbre trill
Since the composer is local and this is an unpublished work, perhaps he could be talked into a modification. Re: [Hornlist] Trills ? !Argh!
Sorry, I can't comment on your main question, but am very interested in this 'powered wig'.
