[HOT] Zooniverse Talk Application

2014-09-22 Thread Kate Chapman
Hi All,

I've been thinking a lot about how we can help each other better analyze
images. I was at a talk by Brooke Simmons from Zooniverse recently. She
showed their Zooniverse Talk(1) website which is relatively simple but at
the same time blew my mind! Also it is open source(2) which is great.

It is a way for their community to discuss objects and items they find
while looking at images. Anyway check it out and let's all discuss more.
Perhaps this would be something that the Tasking Manager could facilitate
or should it be its own item? I'd also be interested if this would fall
under fair use as far as licensing.

Best,

-Kate

Hi Rafael,

Can you please add my unique UNMIL import OSM account to this task:

bgirardot_UNMIL_Import

If we can do it under our regular OSM account then I am all set, that
account can access the job already.

Cheers,
Blake

2014-09-22 Thread Jaakko Helleranta / Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT)
Hello all,

I'll be participating tomorrow on Tuesday (or today depending where you
are) in a panel discussion titled Mobilizing a United Corporate and
Communications Response to Contain Ebola (
http://www.cghd.org/forum/?page_id=8) talking about HOT and OSM and our
involvement with the outbreak response. The panel is scheduled to happen
between 12:20-2:15 pm (EDT = UTC-4).

The forum event, Creating a post-2015 Infrastructure for Development - A
Debate on the Future of Global Health Infrastructure, is organized by The
Center for Global Health and Diplomacy in conjunction with the UN General
Assembly in New York and it will continue on Wednesday.

If you're interested you can tune in to the event's live stream (that will
be available also after the event) at http://www.cghd.org/forum/

I've copied the list/schedule of the sessions of the event below for your
information.

Cheers,

2014-09-22 Thread Blake Girardot

Hi Rafael,

I realize adding my import user name to the HOT TM2 project was not
needed was it?

It only matters that we use the proper OSM login info for JOSM, checkout
the task can be under our regular OSM login. First time I had to use an
alternate login so I got a little confused :)

Sorry for the added work.

Regards,
Blake

Re: [HOT] [Ebola] Import of 14, 020 United Nations Mission in Liberia place nodes

2014-09-22 Thread Rafael Avila Coya
Yes. I was aware that it wasn't needed to use the import account to access
the job tasks and their data. I didn't comment it because I am now in a
long distance bus, only with my cellphone. But it's actually a bit better
if we access with our import account instead of the regular one, as that
way the import account will be the one that will appear in the stats, and
therefore making it more clear/less confusing.
In a similar job for the import of health facilities in Bauchi state (job
637 if I remember well) I sent a message to a user blaming him for using
his regular account, based on a quick look to the stats of that job, only
to find that he was using his import account correctly. Blushing.
I will add my import account as well, and will with other accounts if
people ask me.

Cheers,

Rafael.
