Fred, It would be fantastic that people from Guinea help update the map. I suggest they concentrate on adding village names, highway road numbers while the remote mappers take care to add roads and settlements outbounds. I will be pleased to exchange with the participants of such mapathon if possible with the internet connection. So far since the departure of MSF swiss and Cartong October 2014, they are not using OSM Database as a data repository as far I have seen. They are using only the OSM background Compare to Sierre Leone and Libera. If somebody as more information about it as I came only yesterday. I am in Guinéa, I will try to organise a small mapping party here. So far since the departure of MSF swiss and Cartong October 2014, they are not using OSM Database as a data repository as far I have seen. They are using only the OSM background Compare to Sierre Leone and Libera. If somebody as more information about it as I came only yesterday. Thanks John, I have archived it. The other jobs around Conakry are progressing well also. I have updated the overview map that shows the areas covered so far by the task manager jobs for the West Africa Ebola outbreak.see http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/west-africa-ebola-outbreak-zones-covered-by-the-op_13842 Once the Task manager jobs are completed, we will have covered all the zone between Conakry and Freetown. This corresponds to must of the zones were outbreak cases were reported in the last weeks.
