Not at the moment, it was never intended as a control-point
generator, the .pto output was an afterthought. Though future
resloution of the whole conrol point generator problem might require
.pto input being added.

Supplying a .pto file with %s is broken with the 2.5.0 release as
there is a bug where paths with spaces don't work.

This is fixed in the current trunk, but there are other problems and
the trunk isn't ready for a release.

It is tempting to apply just known good fixes to 2.5.0 and release a
minor bugfix.

Thank you - I could have read the help text more carefully.

I had read "following patterns will be substituted before running". But
it took me quite a while to understand that arguments with % don't have
to do anything with arguments with -.

Can align_image_stack deal with whole panotools scripts (%s) as
autopano-sift-c can meanwhile?
(By the way: --maxmatches %p --projection %f,%v %o %i is still the
default for autopano-sift-c - wouldn't be %s be better because of
command line length in Windows and other things as recently discussed?)

Joachim

You can control the number of points with the align_image_stack -c
parameter:

-f %v -c %p -p %o %i

..but according to the align_image_stack usage this will actually
generate 25x the specified numer of points, i.e. specify 10 and you
will get 250 points, specify 1 and you will 25 points.

Thank you! it works. Just the number of cps to generate per pair (set on
the image tab) is not handed to align_image_stack, so it always adds
several hundred.
I thought with would be done with %p instead of -p but this seems to
have been a misunderstanding of how this parameter thing works.
Error -1.

Yes, try this entry in the Control point generator preferences:

Align image stack
align_image_stack
-f %v -p %o %i

If I do so the align_image_stack entry disappears from the list!

should the parts in brackets be just ommited?

Neither the trunk or the 2009.2 branch has this [ %f == 2 ] stuff as
it could only work on unix systems and is completely untested (I
haven't had a chance to test it myself and it was my idea).

Do you still get it if you 'Load defaults' in the preferences?

ptomerge is part of Panotools::Script.
