I personally prefer fastpath written by Gilbert. It supports edit, view

Subject
strange failure for a single TSO user using the old DL edit macro

I have a vanilla TSO user who uses the DL edit macro, which has been
around for years.
The DL works as follows:

While in an edit session, put the cursor on a DSN and then on the command
line, key in DL and enter.
This will put you into ISPF 3.4 and then hit enter and you get a DSLIST of

all the entries. The failure for the user is that he
gets only the base entry displayed.

I thought that his ISPF.ISPPROF dataset was corrupted so I created a new
ISPF.ISPPROF dataset for my test TSO userid. Then I copied in
all of the members of ISPF.ISPPROF for the TSO user who is experiencing
the failure and lo and behold, it worked.

Any suggestions for this quirk? Nobody else is experiencing the failure.

BTW, the DL edit macro was written by Gilbert Saint-Flour. Is he still
around?

Does anyone have Debug Tool V10 in production, especially for CICS
COBOL? I
tried V10 but went back to V9 because of issues I could not resolve.

I would send all the programmers output to a certain class and when the
spool gets full, delete the oldest output in that class.

OK, I'm being Scrooge. But we have a person here who loves to use the

would people think about being able to put a quota on JES2 SPOOL space by
userid? Of course, scheduled jobs (test, model office/qa, and prod) would

need to run under an exempt userid. And I guess STCs should be exempt
also.
What about TSO logons? And what should happen when the quota is
exhausted? An abend? An I/O error reported to the job?

The Who'ville Company employed a Grinch that loved to send his
reports to the spool.

In that same company was a programmer who got fed up and decide
to write an automation rule.

The rule could ensure that the Grinch's reports were retained, purged or
printed.

And the programmer's boss was happy that a new exit didn't have to be
invented!

Merry Christmas,
Dave

I don't think a loss to NEON would reflect negatively on IBM's
credibility. It would dramatically change how System z software is
priced. Free software execution on specialty engines will all but
disappear unless IBM is successful at developing a way to differentiate
and quantify Eligible execution from that which is not Eligible using SMF.
